🚨BUILDING FIRE

Tucson Fire was dispatched to a building fire at 291 North Meyer Avenue at 3:46 this morning.

Engine 1 arrived five minutes later and found a garbage can fire had spread to a nearby structure.

Crews had the fire under control at 4:06 and were able to prevent flames from spreading to other businesses.

No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.

SWEETWATER WETLANDS BURN

Tucson Fire crews will be assisting Tucson Water next Thursday, November 6, beginning at 8:00 a.m., for the annual prescribed burn at the Sweetwater Wetlands.

You may notice smoke in the area during the morning hours — please don’t call 911. Firefighters will already be on scene keeping everything safe and under control.

This annual event helps improve wetland health by removing invasive plants, reducing mosquitoes, and giving wildland firefighters valuable hands-on training.
