This is the first unit the Clippers have been using in camp so far:
Darius Garland
Max Strus
Derrick Jones Jr.
Rui Hachimura
Isaiah Jackson
Brook Lopez has been with the second group, but Ty Lue said things will change.
Kris Dunn says Keaton Wagler has stood out the most in Clippers training camp.
“Me and Keaton built a relationship off being genuine… One thing I learned about Keaton is he processes things very fast. He’s got a very high IQ. He’s been playing really well… He’s been shooting the ball really well, he’s really good in the pick and roll. He’s able to get his teammates involved. And then defensively he’s been holding his own. He made a lot of great plays yesterday and I’ve seen him make great plays in pickup. I understand why they chose Keaton Wagler.”
Ty Lue said the Clippers are going to give Keaton Wagler a lot of on-ball opportunities.
“A lot of opportunities. Because he’s a great pick and roll player. Just mixing it up when he’s bringing it up the floor, when he’s catching the ball with a live dribble, running pick and rolls. Just give him different looks. We know he’s a great pick and roll player so we want to make sure we use him the right way.”
