@BrandonMSparks @NC_WASP You are stupid. He fought succession to the last minute and only resigned his commission after Lincoln called for volunteers to invade the south. You are a true example of mass-consumer ignorance.
@BrandonMSparks @NC_WASP Why don't you get all your Michigan and Ohio and NY trash to stop moving down here. Lol. The rust belt is what's never coming back. Y'all did great things with it man.
@BrandonMSparks @NC_WASP I get it now. You can't understand things like gallantry and honor. You're a yankee. Lol. You won. What did you win? How is the rust belt? Talk about a fantasy.
@BrandonMSparks @NC_WASP Also, your country as you call it invaded his country. All he did was what any white man has done for 1000 years before him: defend his home. When the English came for your ancestors did they lay down and die or stand up and fight?
@BrandonMSparks @NC_WASP What's good about America now? Illegals have washed over the border. The homeless are taking over downtown core in every major city. You go down to the drag queen story hour at the library yet? What are you defending?
@BrandonMSparks @NC_WASP You should care about his gallantry and grace. How his men were devoted to him. How he did more to foster reconciliation after the war than any man on the continent. You should care about those things because he was a great American.
@MavwreckTweet@BeauRodenSC76@itskellydiane @ranck_katherine Lee graduated West Point in 1829 and served 32 years in the US Army. He could have resigned his commission at any point after his initial service period. He resigned his commission on April 20, 1861. He was a private citizen of Virginia after that.
@itskellydiane @ranck_katherine And that's just one man. There were countless like him. You can hide behind "slavery" and "treason" but you are ignoring the facts of individual sacrifice. And these were our ancestors. That's why we obsess over them.

@itskellydiane @ranck_katherine "He was a most gallant and energetic officer whom no disaster appalled, but his courage and energy seemed to gain new strength in the midst of confusion and disorder. He fell at his post fighting like a lion at bay, and his native State has reason to be proud of his memory."
@NC_WASP @itskellydiane @ranck_katherine Right? It's such a simple way to explain away the complexities of history. Just shout treason and file it away. Understanding the realities of the period is much more difficult.
@Sachinettiyil I think he's descended from Louis XIV not Louis XVI. Only one of 16's children lived through the terror. Marie-Therese had no children. Maybe the Dauphin escaped but I doubt it.
@Ck27126422@AlpacaAurelius Check out meditative mind on YT. They have a lot. I started years ago as a noise blocker when I needed to get writing done at work. I sometimes feel white noise occupies my distractive mind and allows me to focus elsewhere.
@AlpacaAurelius Yes! Check out meditative mind on YT. They have a lot of frequencies. I use them to relax after work and if I'm feeling generally agitated. It maybe placebo but it's free and no side effects. I swear the dissolve toxins one works.
