Security remains at the heart of my administration’s priorities, and it is through meaningful partnerships and collaborations that we continue to pursue peace and stability in our state.

It was in this spirit that we came together yesterday with international donors, development and implementation partners to launch the €5.1 million Conflict Prevention, Crisis Response, and Resilience programme, funded by the European Union (EU). This initiative marks an important step forward in our collective efforts to strengthen peace, resilience, and development in Katsina State.

The programme will be delivered in partnership with the International Organization for Migration (IOM), the Centre for Democracy and Development (CDD), and Mercy Corps. At local level, it will be implemented in collaboration with state and local governments and coordinated by the Katsina State Development Management Board (KTSDMB).

Led by the EU Ambassador to Nigeria and ECOWAS, H.E. Grantier Migrot, the 18-month initiative will focus on three key areas: Peace-building and conflict mitigation, Livelihood support and economic recovery and Governance and institutional strengthening.

The programme also aims to establish community peace structures, strengthen early warning systems, launch media campaigns promoting peace, and implement over 20 quick-impact projects.

Special attention will be given to internally displaced persons (IDPs), host communities, and other vulnerable groups through initiatives such as vocational training, climate-smart agriculture, and improved market access. These efforts are designed to help communities move from trauma to healing, from fear to safety, and from despair to a renewed hope.

This programme represents more than just development—it signals a new era of partnership, hope, and collective action that puts communities, especially women, youth, and the most vulnerable, at the centre of recovery and resilience-building efforts.

During the launch, I also had the honour of inaugurating the Project Steering Committee, which will play a vital role in ensuring transparent, coordinated, and accountable implementation of the programme.

I want to extend my heartfelt appreciation to our funding partners, our dedicated implementation teams, and our local collaborators for their commitment and support at this critical time.

And most importantly, I thank the people of Katsina State for their patience, resilience, and unending support. You continue to inspire our work every day. I remain fully committed to building the Katsina we all dream of--a safer, stronger, and more prosperous state for all.

It gives me great honor to have commissioned and launched the newly constructed junior secondary school at Muhammadu Dodo Junior Secondary School, Kofar Kaura Layout, Katsina State. This laudable project was proudly supported by the Adolescents Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment.

The establishment of this school marks a significant milestone in our commitment to enhancing educational opportunities for young children in the state. With modern facilities and dedicated staff, we aim to provide an environment conducive to learning and personal growth.

Furthermore, this initiative will empower students to pursue their academic aspirations and develop essential skills for their future. Together, we are fostering a generation of educated young people who will contribute positively to Katsina State and beyond.

Katsina Community Watch Corps Intercepts Vehicle Carrying 610 Rounds of Ammunitions*

The Katsina State Community Watch Corp , reports a significant security operation carried out by its men on September 10, 2024, at approximately 19:30 hours in Batsari town.

Acting on intelligence, members of the Community Watch Corps intercepted a commercial vehicle with plate number BTR 45 XA, carrying 17 passengers - 13 females and 4 males, including the driver. During the routine check, the vigilant corps members discovered a cache of ammunition hidden under a seat, which was later found to contain 610 rounds of ammunitions of both AK-47 and General Purpose Machine Gun (GPMG) and two magazines.

The suspect, described as a man wearing white voile clothes, exhibited suspicious behaviour throughout the journey. He initially insisted on sitting at the rear of the vehicle and appeared visibly uncomfortable and anxious. When the vehicle was stopped for inspection, the suspect managed to evade capture, leaving behind the concealed ammunition.

The Katsina State Government under Mallam Dikko Radda's watch is commited to maintaining peace and security within the state and will continue to support and enhance the capabilities of our security apparatus to combat all forms of criminality.

Upon Governor Radda's immediate inauguration, he promptly dispatched and approved a bill to establish the Katsina State Ministry of Internal and Home Affairs, demonstrating his commitment to restoring peace in Katsina. Additionally, he has instituted a state-owned security apparatus to support the existing Federal Government security forces, ensuring they are equipped with all necessary resources.

Governor Radda on multiple occasions met with the Commander in Chief and various security chiefs to address the pressing security issues in Katsina State.

The Katsina State Government is diligently working within its means to safeguard the lives of its citizens. The longstanding issue of insecurity requires a collaborative effort from the Federal Government, State Government, local communities, and all relevant stakeholders to develop sustainable solutions.

May Almighty Allah grant us victory against these monster and give our gallant officers on the battle field the wisdom and courage to bring peace to our country.
