A former police station in #Swansea has been turned into temporary accommodation for people experiencing #homelessness.

The newly renovated property has now become 68 individual rooms across a number of floors by Swansea council...

1 day to go until the Sleep Out! While the team taking on this fundraising event will have comforts like toilets and food, it will be nothing like the harsh, unsafe conditions faced by more than 13,000 people in 2024/5 sleeping rough in London.

And the first couple to ever stay with us at the shelter have moved into a one bedroom apartment, a short bus ride from the college they are studying at. They are very pleased and we are happy to hear of such a positive next chapter for some of our former guests!

Rounding off this week with a bit of weeding! We’re also happy to be finishing this week with some good news from some of our former guests. One guest who is now settled into his own place came by the shelter this week to say hello and kindly donate a generous bag of tinned food.

Come to 1 Mare Street gallery tonight from 7.30pm where 5 artists will be painting a live mural, and we’ll be sharing a drink with you all to celebrate the collective effort that resulted in supporting 100 individuals on their journey out of homelessness!
