If you have any issues or ideas you want to discuss, come to my surgery today 2nd July between 6pm to 7pm at Queensbridge Leisure Centre, 30 Holly Street E8

I’ll continue to call for reforms to our criminal justice system that put the onus of behaviour change on male perpetrators of domestic abuse.
Women must have confidence that the system will deliver justice when they report abuse and coercive behaviour.
The UK government has said it will appoint a national maternity commissioner to drive change after a report concluded that families have suffered from repeated failures in NHS care.
The review, led by Baroness Valerie Amos, calls for urgent change to the way women and families are treated, including when they phone in with concerns during pregnancy and labour. She said families should have the right to an independent investigation when things go wrong.
Applications open today for the Government's Youth Jobs Grant - a £3000 hiring bonus for employers who take on young people who have been out of work for six months or more.
It's all part of our Youth Guarantee - a plan to help young people into work. https://t.co/Q6CArb810N
I joined the @HackneyLFUG meeting to talk about the local area. We had an important discussion including why they want the paddling pool to opened again. Lots of good ideas and residents willing to help.
A beautiful afternoon spent in the Garden of Earthly Delights in Hackney Central. Meeting up with friends and engaging in a community workshop on food growing with speakers including Rachel from Hackney Food Network ❤️
Thanks to Deba and the team
Happy 200th birthday @StJohnsHoxton!
It was a fantastic joy and privilege to join the community for a special service to mark the church’s bicentenary.
St John’s has always been a rock for people in Hoxton and a beacon of hope.
Here’s to many more years of service!
Growing up on a council estate, spaces like this meant everything.
The cage wasn’t just somewhere to play sports. It was where friendships were built, confidence grew and young people from every background came together.
That’s why I love what the Last Stand is doing ✊🏼✊🏾
"No.10 North will oversee the biggest council house building programme since the post-war period" says Labour MP Andy Burnham.
In his first major speech since launching his bid to replace Sir Keir Starmer as Labour leader, he outlined his plans for housing, emphasising the devolution of power from Westminster.
For too long, an inconsistent licensing system has held back our pubs, clubs, bars and live music venues.
Change is finally coming. New laws coming into force today give City Hall a formal say on licensing decisions across the capital.
My piece for @LBC:
Millions of Londoners have been affected by the extreme heat this week.
That’s why we've launched London’s first ever heat plan to help our city adapt and stay safe ⬇️
Today, we remember Zara Aleena, four years since her life was taken. My thoughts remain with her family and friends, and with everyone affected by her murder.
Zara believed in a fairer, kinder society. We honour her by continuing the work to build a London where all women and girls feel safe, and are safe, wherever they are day and night.
72,600 lives transformed.
Our adult skills funding has moved thousands of Londoners into employment or education while giving 90% of learners a massive boost to their confidence. This is how we build a stronger city.

3/3 Thank you to everyone who put their trust in us, in Labour.
We can take great heart from the fact that we clawed back a good amount of the vote, and are demonstrably fighting back.
Keep the faith 🌹
2/3 Commiserations to the fantastic Sheila @susorunge and Grace @OloriTijani.
You showed great courage and resilience to bounce back after May’s result and put yourself forward to represent again.
You will, no doubt, continue to be big community champions - the best of Hackney.
1/3 Sad that it wasn’t to be for @HackneyLabour in Dalston and Hackney Central wards yesterday.
Congratulations to the newly elected ward councillors - it is a privilege to serve.
Thank you to all those who voted Labour yesterday. We came close to winning in Hackney Central ward which shows there is a significant number of people who would like to see a Labour councillor elected.
