When management are speaking corporate, workers know the reality on the ground 📣
It's you who keep companies running. You know what's really happening on the shop floor, so your voices should be heard by the bosses.
That's where union reps come in. Our reps make sure workers' voices are heard, hold employers to account and fight for solutions to the problems that matter.
And with the new Employment Rights Act giving trade unions greater rights of access to workplaces, there are more opportunities for workers to organise for change and build union strength 💪

✈️ Abuse doesn't fly.
A shocking Unite survey has revealed the scale of abuse faced by airport and aviation workers:
✈️72% of ground staff experience verbal abuse at least monthly.
✈️71% of cabin crew face regular verbal abuse.
✈️Almost a third of ground staff and 42% of cabin crew have been physically assaulted.
Airlines and airports must step up, take responsibility and ensure workers are properly protected. Nobody should face abuse, threats or violence simply for doing their job.

Unite is campaigning for a care service that puts an end to the rank profiteering happening across the UK, and establishes a compassionate, accessible, caring system that is fully funded through progressive taxation – not by picking the pockets of pensioners.
The government’s proposed free personal care service, funded by pension cuts, will do nothing to stop private profiteers, nor provide a true National Care Service for those who require dementia or residential care.
David’s mum deserved better and so does everyone else.
Sadly, his story is not unique. Please like and share this video to make more people aware of what is going on in care homes up and down the country.

⚡The Energy Independence Bill promises faster connections but what workers & businesses really need is cheaper bills.
"You cannot fix a broken energy system while leaving it in the hands of profiteers. The grid must be brought into public ownership and run for the benefit of the country, not shareholders” @UniteSharon

Our essential services should be run for people – not profit🚨
Unite Community member Kay explains how, when public services are diverted into private pockets, it’s workers and the public who pay the price.
Recently, hundreds of outsourced workers at Guys and St Thomas’s Trust are to strike this week over poverty pay, meanwhile bin workers employed by an outsourcing compant in Havering are fighting for a fair wage.
While these workers take to the picket line, our message is clear: Our essential services belong in public hands - not run as a business for shareholders ✊
💪Union reps and equalities reps have new rights; Workers who take strike action have new protections; Unions have improved rights to access workplaces; and employers must tell workers of their right to join a union.
⚖️Changes to the law from the Employment Rights Act came into force at the end of October.

Shocking new survey findings from Scottish airports reveal the scale of abuse faced by cabin crew and ground staff simply doing their jobs.
🔴 72% of ground staff and 71% of cabin crew experience verbal abuse at least monthly.
🔴 31% of ground staff and 42% of cabin crew report having been physically assaulted.
🔴 Alcohol was identified as a major trigger for passenger abuse.
Unite is calling for stronger protections, including the power to ban abusive passengers across the aviation sector, better safety measures and consistent standards to protect workers.
Airports must make the safety of workers their top priority.

Being young shouldn't mean having to settle for less when it comes to your jobs, pay or donations ✊
From insecure zero-hours contracts and low pay to fewer job opportunities and rising living costs - young workers have been facing an uphill battle - but we're not standing by and accepting it.
It's young workers month and we're spotlighting how Unite members are coming together to challenge unfair treatment, fight for better wages and demand the secure jobs and decent conditions every worker deserves.
Because when workers stand together, we have the power to make things better. Get involved and be part of the fight 📣

📊While workers feel the pinch, shareholders are laughing all the way to the bank. In the third quarter of 2026, FTSE firms paid out a whopping £28.4 billion in dividends to
shareholders. That's the highest payout since 2019.
💰💰It is clear that these big employers’ ability to pay is at record highs.

"In a place like this we do feel very much alone!" ❤️🩹
When cleaners and catering staff working at Forest School began strike action over attempts to cut their contract, there was an outpouring of support from the local community.
You let them know that you stand with them! 👇
These bin workers deserve to be treated with respect and FCC can’t keep kicking these serious concerns from its workforce down the road. These must be addressed now and our members there have our full backing during this dispute.

Airline workers expose the reality of abuse at work 🚨
Three quarters of cabin crew say they face passenger abuse at least once a month.
And it's not just verbal abuse. Almost a third of ground staff and 42% of cabin crew surveyed by Unite have experienced physical assault.
From sexual harassment and threats of rape to hot drinks being thrown at workers, the abuse facing aviation staff is completely unacceptable.
Support Unite's calls for: disruptive passengers to be banned from airports., better security, including increased police presence and panic alarms. Proper reporting systems and support for workers and de-escalation training and counselling for those affected.

📈Just getting by costs 3.9% more than it did a year ago
💡Fuel and light are 8.9% more expensive
⛽Petrol and diesel prices have risen more than 30%
Overall prices have risen a huge 42% since March 2021
And that means that, without significant pay rises, wages just can’t provide.

Working overtime for no extra pay? Nightmare. 😤
Your time is worth money. Getting paid fairly for every hour you work isn’t a nice-to-have – it’s a basic right.
Meg from Unite Hospitality explains why fair pay and decent hours matter, how unions help workers negotiate better conditions, and how standing together can help protect you from bad bosses✊
😱RPI shot up to 3.9% last month, with fuel & motoring
costs powering the rise.
🚀Energy bills are expected to rocket in the new year, while profits, dividends & CEO pay are all sky high.
💷Workers need decent pay rises to keep up.

From today, employers have a stronger legal duty to protect workers from harassment by customers, clients and members of the public 📣
That means sexual harassment, racial attacks and intimidation must be addressed in the workplace. If a third party harasses you at work, your employer could be held legally responsible if they haven’t taken all reasonable steps to prevent it.
Whether you work in hospitality, transport, healthcare, retail or any customer-facing role, abuse and harassment are not just 'part of the job'.
Employers must take action to prevent it, protect their workers and make sure everyone can do their job safely.
Workers deserve respect, dignity and safety at work. No exceptions.

A post-Covid boom saw profits at the UK’s three biggest supermarkets rise by 89% in 2023 😳
While supermarket continue to make healthy profits, shoppers are still paying more for the essentials? 🛒
Food and drink prices rose by around 25% between January 2022 and January 2024. In comparison, they rose by just 9% in the entire decade before that (ONS)
Of course, not every price rise is profiteering. But big businesses have choices: they can absorb higher costs, lower prices, accept smaller profits or pass the squeeze on to workers, shoppers and suppliers.
And with major supermarkets holding huge bargaining power, it’s worth asking who really pays the price.
When food prices rise, who gets the extra money — and who gets squeezed? 👀
