وجاءت المبادرة بالتزامن مع إحياء ذكرى شهداء تموز، حيث حمل النصب أسماء الضحايا وسط وقفة صمت وقراءة الفاتحة وزراعة الورود في محيط النصب.

Justice for the Victims of Sweida: Sign to Challenge Impunity

A group of legal experts, human rights specialists, and representatives of civil society organizations have submitted a legal memorandum to the Independent International Commission of Inquiry on the Syrian Arab Republic calling for a comprehensive legal assessment of the violations that occurred in Sweida Governorate in July 2025.

This initiative comes as the Commission has announced that it will issue a special report on the violence in Sweida, creating an important opportunity to advance the path toward international accountability.

Documented evidence indicates that grave violations were committed against civilian members of the Druze community, including mass killings, extrajudicial executions, torture, abductions, and the destruction of homes and property. These acts warrant careful legal evaluation in light of the Genocide Convention and the principles of international criminal law.
