Teachers, what are your best teacher life hacks? I’m thinking snipping tool, penny on your stapler, books handed in open on marked page .... that sort of thing?

@LouisEverett1 Having one student from each table bring their pile of books up as their table is dismissed. Saves so much time when handing them back out the next lesson as they’re already in the groups.
@LouisEverett1 Time management is hard to keep when you first start. I was recommend to write the time I was going to leave on a postage note at the start of day, stick it on my desk so I can see it, it motivated me to keep going and made me more productive!
@LouisEverett1 Carry out a loose sheet check before handing books in. They have to waft them before they go in a pile (as mentioned above with the correct page open) and if any fall out they either need to bin them if they’re of no use or stick them in.
@LouisEverett1 If you photocopy resources for the class, always photocopy a few extra as there will always be a kid who accidentally wrecks it/ loses it/ you need to move/ needs work as they have to work elsewhere etc but you only find this out at the start of the lesson!
@LouisEverett1 Grid lines on PowerPoints. If you have a bank of activities you frequently go to stick these on a separate templates PowerPoint to copy. Number your lessons in the order they go in - don’t just name them- you will forget for next year. Set and collect HW on same day each week.
@LouisEverett1 If you’re making sets of anything like dominos or flash cards print sets on different colours so if you find a red flash card on the floor you know which set it goes with and you don’t have to look through them all to find out what set is missing one

Doing ray diagrams with GCSE, just put a bunch of protractors on the photocopier and printed several sheets on OHP transparency. Why didn't I think of this before?? "Miss I don't have a..." Sorted! AND I don't mind if they walk off with these! #iteachphysics
