Creative Minimalist
Helping you unlock your creativity through the power of minimalism
Toured the UK and Europe as a professional musician for 10+ years
Why you should always walk with no phone, no headphones, and no plan:
- You're looking up
- You're listening
- You can follow your instincts
Take your blinkers off and experience the world.
Being an environmental activist is actually pretty selfish.
• You'll get healthier from more time outdoors.
• You'll gain new skills that boost your career.
• You'll help stabilise the economy by averting climate disasters.
So, why not join the cause?
Creative Minimalism 101:
• What do you want to say with your art?
• Tell that to yourself. Write it down.
• Create.
• Remove anything that doesn't serve your core idea.
• Repeat.
This process makes my art more intentional, and helps me speak more clearly to audiences.
When we step outside our echo chambers, we:
• Become more tolerant
• Feel grounded
• Develop new ideas
• Become better communicators
• Grow in confidence
Building real connections in your local area can help you develop personally and professionally.

How many of us engage in our local community?
Physical neighbours offer much more diversity than online echo-chambers.
They provide a greater variety of age, race, gender, and political backgrounds than you have in your followers.
Here's how engaging locally can help you:

#5 Grow in confidence
Engaging with new people and contributing to your community can boost your self-esteem. The more you interact, the more comfortable you’ll become in new social situations.

Being a professional musician has made me less creative.
The pressure of a paycheck makes me focus on performing instead of exploring new ideas. I fall back on old methods, and don't push myself to grow.
So I'm looking for unpaid spaces to play and create with other artists.
If you think you're building a sustainable career, but are sacrificing any of these things:
• Health (mental and physical)
• Wealth (covering your base needs)
• Environment (caring for our planet)
It might be time for a re-think.
5/5
Everyone is talking about sustainable careers these days.
But is anyone talking about what it means?
After working in the music industry for 10+ years, I've boiled it down to these three things.

#3 Environment
If we damage our planet beyond repair, it won't matter how wealthy or healthy you are.
Push your company to adopt more eco-friendly practices. If you're self-employed, how can you champion environmental causes?

This is your sign to stop scrolling and go outside.
• Even if it's raining.
• Even if it's dark out.
• Even if you live on the 10th floor.
Walk out of the door. Find something green. Breath deeply.
Carry on.

Being a professional creative is a dream job.
That's what I used to think.
Turns out, it can quickly drain your energy and stifle your imagination.
Unless you follow this advice.
