@vrgldh Common sight from a rural ring county: graduate college, no housing in your small town, move to Bellevue/Nashville for apartment/job, move back to a ring county to buy a house/start a family.

@vrgldh Williamson Chamber says 60% of Williamson Co. residents were born in a different state.

@vrgldh Would be interesting to look at how much of Williamson Co.’s population growth is driven by out of state migration vs intrastate migration - especially from Davidson.

It does mean a lot of lost rural farmland in those counties. (Montgomery, Robertson, etc)

CM Horton could be wrong, if he’s correct then I definitely think it’s a conversation we need to be having. I want property taxes to cover the services people get.

I’ll be honest I have no idea how that makes MNPS better for the future. I think CM Horton’s comments deserve a closer look when it comes to SFH in Nashville.

@mattmurphyshow @freddieoconnell @HortonRollin @PodBlessNash And last point, Williamson County doesn’t have the best schools in the country because people “who don’t benefit from public schools” don’t pay their share. (As you’ve mentioned)

They go beyond what’s required and I think the results speak for themselves.

@mattmurphyshow @freddieoconnell @HortonRollin @PodBlessNash They get tired of paying rent and can’t afford a $550k house (roughly median in Davidson). Young couples well into the 6 figure combined incomes don’t have $100k lying around to put towards a single asset.
