The Peshmerga is more than a military force. It is a symbol of the struggle, sacrifice and identity of the people of Kurdistan.
Today is a historic day for Kurdistan and the Peshmerga; the process of unifying and reorganizing the Peshmerga forces has been successfully completed.
This unification is the first step of a long process, and the next phase is even more important. It must focus on strengthening military capabilities, providing advanced weapons and air defense systems, developing competencies, and comprehensively advancing the Peshmerga forces.

Following an investigation by the Kurdistan Counter-Terrorism Unit, my personal office and the home of the head of the Security and Intelligence Agency were targeted by Iranian drone attacks earlier today.
I condemn these reckless and unacceptable attacks in the strongest terms. This is a dangerous escalation and a direct threat to the security and stability of the Kurdistan Region.
These attacks will not deter us from carrying out our duties and protecting our citizens -mb.
Today marks the 46th anniversary of the Genocide of the Feyli Kurds, in which thousands of Feyli Kurds were killed, disappeared and displaced by the former Ba'athist regime.
Once again, we remind the federal government of its moral, legal and constitutional responsibility to provide reparations to the victims of the Genocide of the Feyli Kurds, the chemical weapons attacks, the Anfal Genocide and all the victims of the former Iraqi regime.
On this somber occasion, we pay tribute to the souls of the martyrs of the Genocide of the Feyli Kurds and all the martyrs of Kurdistan.
Today at Erbil Citadel, in the presence of President Barzani, we lit the Newroz fire.
Throughout history, the people of Kurdistan have stood against oppression and never bowed to tyrants.
Happy Newroz and Kurdish New Year -mb.
On the 38th anniversary of the Halabja Genocide, we honor the martyrs of this atrocity: a chemical attack against the people of Kurdistan.
We must always remember that today’s achievements are the fruits of immense sacrifices, and we must protect them in every way.
“At a time when war and great instability prevail in our region, Iraq is facing various threats of crisis and difference in political views of the parties have further intensified,” President Barzani said.

On the anniversary of Kurdistan's 1991 Uprising, I extend my warmest congratulations to all Kurdistanis, our heroic Peshmerga and the proud families of the martyrs.
Today more than ever, unity is our greatest strength and we must continue to protect our national achievements.
President Barzani’s Message on the Anniversary of the Uprising
In the name of God, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful
On the thirty-fifth anniversary of the outbreak of the Kurdistan people’s uprising, I extend my warmest congratulations to the families of our righteous martyrs, to the heroic Peshmerga, to the beloved people of Kurdistan, and to all patriots, freedom fighters, and noble individuals who played a role in achieving this valuable accomplishment for our people.
The uprising was the result and continuation of the struggle and sacrifices of the steadfast masses and forces of Kurdistan over decades. This momentous event—filled with pride and glory for every Kurdistani individual, now and in the future—embodies a message of resilience and refusal to surrender, reaffirming the values of freedom and the will to live with dignity and honor.
As our region goes through highly complex and sensitive circumstances, we hope that all issues and disputes in the area find their way to resolution through peaceful means. For our part, we will do everything within our power to ensure that Kurdistan remains distant from war, tragedies, and misery, and continues to be protected and secure.
On this blessed anniversary, we salute the martyrs of the uprising and all martyrs on the path to the freedom of the Kurds and Kurdistan.

Today, as we honor the martyrs of the February 1st terrorist attack, we are reminded to stand united, to defend the legitimate rights of our people, and to continue our pursuit until we achieve our ultimate goal.

During the meeting, President Barzani welcomed the participants and expressed his appreciation for their attendance, stressing the importance of working to establish peace and prevent further violence in the current circumstances. He underscored the need for dialogue, stability, and coexistence in a new Syria.
Ambassador Barrack, speaking on behalf of the United States, thanked President Barzani for his hospitality, for convening the meeting, and for his continued support.

The footage of the Kurdistan Region’s counterterrorism force in the Kurdish town of Cizre, in southeastern Turkey, has drawn mixed reactions. It has instilled a sense of pride among Turkey’s Kurdish population while angering some Turkish nationalists.
The force was in Turkey to guard President Masoud Barzani during his recent visit to the country.
I also urge our American and international partners to provide the defensive equipment necessary to protect our civilian infrastructure, and to support us in taking serious action to deter these attacks on our people and our progress -mb.
