Basically, you have many cooks in the kitchen with a vested interest that housing prices stay elevated including the government which collects taxes based on assessed value and benefits from a robust economy based in large part on inflated home values (holla back 2008). No you misunderstand- the value of the home is in the labor of assembly. The labor is done by illegal immigrants, almost exclusively at pennies on the dollar. The material is virtually garbage (plywood and plastic) and the grift is everything else that makes those shitty ingredients 500k. It is a scam on all fronts

Major builders, local governments with permitting, national governments with interest rates, big banks through lending standards , real estate agents and mortgage officers who get paid based on the inflated price of the home, a global economy based on the product of essentially slave labor and plywood…its actually more of a conspiracy, now that I think about it…

@tweeternicus @elonmusk Yeah, I’m thinking manufactured homes (like prefab). They have prefab homes now but they’ve somewhat unpopular. Build all the solar city stuff and power wall into it. Comes standard with a tesla charger . Contract boring company to dig wells. Maybe Im just dumb
