Meu filho tem 4 anos, é autista e não verbal. Esses dias levei ele à pediatra e, na sala de espera, tinha outra criança autista, que aparentava ter uns 10 anos.

Em determinado momento, essa criança provavelmente entrou em crise e agrediu meu filho. Meu filho é extremamente calmo, não sabe reagir a esse tipo de situação e, por ter nascido prematuro, é bem pequeno e magrinho para a idade.

Eu simplesmente afastei a criança dele com toda delicadeza do mundo e falei: “não pode”.

Pra quê.

A mãe da criança ficou FURIOSA comigo, dizendo que eu não podia encostar no filho dela, que ele era autista e que era “normal” ele fazer aquilo.

Eu expliquei que meu filho também é autista. A diferença é que, se um dia ele agredir alguém, eu vou intervir, pedir desculpas e ensinar que aquilo não pode acontecer, mesmo que ele esteja em crise.

Tem mãe que parece usar o diagnóstico do filho como escudo para nunca precisar corrigir comportamento nenhum. Tudo é “porque ele é autista”, tudo é “você precisa entender”, tudo é “ele não tem culpa”.
