The Potemkin Partyās latest gimmicks essentially revolve around shifting the blame to accuse neighboring countries for the intractable quagmire and multiple conflicts that it has itself incubated throughout the past three years.
This is indeed crystal clear from the chronology of events:
1. In October 2023, in flagrant violation of international law and basic tenets of the Agreement of Friendship and Cooperation signed between the two countries in Asmara in 2018, the Potemkin Party formally launched its campaign of acquiring "sovereign access to the sea... through peaceful means if possible and by force if necessary". The regime went on to launch an intensive domestic propaganda campaign to agitate and incite its domestic constituencies for a reckless round of conflict and mayhem. The toxic campaigns included utter revisions of history; repugnant denial and denigration of Eritrea's right to decolonization as well as the costly war of national liberation. The latter was often dubbed as a "conspiracy by external forces to deny Ethiopia's historic access to the sea".
2. Driven by the same illicit and delusional agenda of "sovereign access to the sea", the regime stealthily signed an MOU with Somaliland whose full contents were not divulged at the time. This was again a flagrant violation of Somalia's inviolable sovereignty and territorial integrity and an affront to the African Union coming from a regime that hosts the Organization and ostensibly "cherishes" its foundational principles
3. The PP regime has also opted to advance the dangerous interests of the UAE to host a military camp in Beni-Shangul- Gumuz region in the western part of the country for the training of RSF troops, the launching of drone attacks as well as a conduit for Mercenaries thereby exacerbating the conflict in the Sudan.
In the event, the source of regional tension is and remains the Potemkin Party regime. Eritrea, in particular, has remained a primary target of PP's reckless agenda and incessant military saber-rattling as the link below illustrates.

#Eritrea - Statement by Foreign Minister Osman Saleh at UNGA81 High-Level Segment to commemorate the 40th Anniversary of the Declaration on the Right to Development;
New York, 23 September 2026
*"...We cannot deny that the current global economic architecture continues to reflect structural imbalances that penalize developing nations. Unfair trade barriers, arbitrary financial restrictions, unsustainable debt burdens, and Unilateral coercive measures make it difficult for Global South developing nations to choose independent policies that best suit their own needs. Instead, they are forced to follow rules designed by wealthier nations. Eritrea reiterates its firm position that UCMs are incompatible with the UN Charter and violate the fundamental right of peoples to determine their own socio-economic paths".
*"...To accelerate the realization of the right to development, and to build a just and sustainable future, I wish to highlight the following points:
1. Respecting the right of states to chart independent political and development policies.
2. Eliminating Unilateral Coercive Measures that restrict access to resources, technology, and international markets.
3. Restructuring multilateral financial and economic institutions to ensure genuine representation and fair rules for developing countries.
4. Supporting the elaboration and adoption of a legally binding instrument on the right to development to enforce accountability and concrete international obligations".
#Eritrea: Statement by Foreign Minister Osman Saleh at high-level plenary meeting on addressing the existential threats posed by sea level rise
*"...Coastal States like Eritrea must diligently address the impacts of sea-level rise, as it poses a direct threat to our coastal communities, marine ecosystems, and development aspirations. It is, therefore, prudent to strengthen coastal adaptation, disaster risk reduction, resilient infrastructure, ecosystem protection, land-use planning, and early warning systems".
*"...Eritrea has put in place protective and conservatory measures. We are expanding marine and island protected areas, restoring coral reefs, mangroves, and coastal vegetation as natural climate buffers, and advancing a sustainable National Blue Economy strategy that safeguards marine resources while supporting local livelihoods".
*"...Eritrea emphasizes the need for stable maritime zones and guarantees for the sovereign rights of coastal States over their maritime spaces. Parts of Eritreaās territory consist of low-lying and sandy coastal areas at constant risk from erosion. Eritrea therefore stresses that baselines and maritime boundaries are preserved and that the sovereign and jurisdictional rights of coastal States over their maritime spaces, in accordance with international law, are protected".
*"...Littoral States have a vital and indispensable role in securing and promoting a sustainable and stable maritime ecosystem".

#Eritrea - Commemoration of the Golden Jubilee of the Revolution School will be held in Asmara and throughout the nation from 17-20th September this week.
A high-level Symposium on Sunday at Asmara Palace will be preceded by Photo Exhibitions, Sports Competition, Concerts, Carnival Shows, and Seminars on the trajectory, role and broad progress of Eritrea's education sector in national development.
The Revolution School epitomized, in many respects, the EPLF's vision, foresight, and resilience as it embarked on education for children in the liberated areas in 1976 in the most trying times and amidst a vicious and relentless war.

Resolution of the Conflict in Sudan: Eritreaās Considered and Long-Pronounced Position
by Shabait Staff
17 September 2026
https://t.co/iVHUQPxlG1
*"...The solution to the conflict in Sudan rests primarily and solely on the Sudanese people.Ā Sudanās friends can only assist in the process in good-faith which must, in turn, be anchored on full respect of its sovereignty and territorial integrity".
*"...In this respect, the proliferation of multiple and disjoint initiatives may be fraught with unintended consequences and compound the crisis if various approaches prompted by, and based on, sincere goodwill are not predicated on foundational consensus as well as substantive and meaningful consultations and coordination".
*"...The imperative of a time-bound Transitional Phase for full restoration of a normative civilian governance architecture in the Sudan is also crystal clear.Ā In this respect, it must be recalled that the Sovereign Council has been, and is entrusted with, this task by the broad Sudanese people.Ā The Sudanese Army played a critical and pivotal role during the popular uprising that removed the incumbent Government.Ā The Transitional phase with the Sovereign Council at the helm was conceived as the necessary bridge to prepare the ground for elections and the restoration of a normative civilian governance structure".
*"...temporary ceasefires and half-solutions will not secure and advance the requisite panacea but rather compound the crises... The focus must therefore be on a comprehensive cessation of hostilities on the basis of a truly viable peace framework".

SPOTLIGHT - #Eritreaās Longstanding Memory: the Worldās Rediscovery of Its Strategic Geography; by Alula Frezghi and David Yeh (abridged)
*"... A recent mainstream media analysis framing Eritrea through renewed strategic relevance reflects a broader analytical problem: presenting a historical constant as a contemporary development. Strategic attention may rise and fall, but strategic geography does not".
*"...Understanding Eritreaās place in the Red Sea requires three things: history, sovereignty, and perspective. History explains its enduring importance; sovereignty determines political and legal authority today; perspective prevents the Horn from being viewed solely through the ambitions of larger powers".
*"...The Red Sea is layered with history. Every port carries memory. Every border has a political history. Every territorial claim can awaken an older dispute. The Horn of Africa has already experienced the consequences of confusing strategic aspiration with sovereign right, economic necessity with legal entitlement, and historical narrative with modern international boundaries. Those lessons were written in decades of war and extraordinary human sacrifice. The region should not have to learn them again".
*"...The critical question is therefore not whether Eritrea matters to the Red Sea. Geography has already answered that. The question is whether that geography will be interpreted through the principles of sovereignty and international law or through the more dangerous logic of strategic convenience and geopolitical entitlement".

Manipulating Perspectives: Prosperity Partyās Latest Repackaging of āDeflectionā;
Research and Documentation Division
Ministry of Foreign Affairs
12 September 2026
*"...Ethiopiaās official state media outlets, affiliated news agencies, as well as co-opted think tanks ...have yet again intensified their coordinated campaigns of rabid disinformation and reckless acts of belligerence against the State of Eritrea".
*"...The campaign represents a desperate and deceitful repackaging of the Prosperity Partyās (PP) visceral hostility, combining its aggressive and provocative intent for acquiring 'sovereign access to the Red Sea ā¦by any means necessary' with malicious attempts to denigrate and delegitimize Eritreaās statehood".
*"...The bottom line is that the Prosperity Party is using Eritrea as a geopolitical scapegoat to shield itself from its own compounding domestic failures".
