On the sidelines of the EU– Ethiopia Investment Forum in #Paris, Foreign Minister @GHessebon met with Jeremie Robert, Adviser for African Affairs to the French President. They discussed bilateral relations and regional issues. Both sides noted the success of the Forum and agreed to deepen cooperation. On the occasion, Minister Gedion offered an extensive overview of the current political dynamics in the region. Today, we begin the Council of Ministers’ macroeconomic evaluation for the first 100-days of the Ethiopian calendar year 2018 with a visit to the Koysha Hydroelectric Power Project. Since my last review, the project has shown remarkable progress, now standing 128 meters high and reaching 70% completion of civil works. This milestone stands as a testament to our continued commitment to achieving energy security.

State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador @SMHaderaAbera, held discussions today with Ambassador of the State of Kuwait to Ethiopia, Nayef Hapes Al Otaibi, at his office today.
Ambassador Hadera recalled his recent visit to Kuwait, noting the fruitful political consultations and series of bilateral meetings held during the visit. As a follow-up, he emphasized the importance of building on the outcomes of those engagements to further strengthen relations between the two countries.
Ambassador Nayef Hapes Al Otaibi, for his part, commended the discussions held during the State Minister’s visit to Kuwait and expressed his commitment to advancing cooperation in the agreed areas.
The two sides exchanged views on enhancing collaboration in bilateral and regional matters of mutual interest, and discussed ways to promote partnership in trade and investment, overseas employment, and other priority sectors.

On our second day in Bale Zone, in addition to inaugurating the Welmel River Irrigation Development Project and visiting nearby beneficiary farms, we returned to Bale Mountains National Park to review new tourism development projects in the Harenna cluster. These projects, currently under construction, include the Rira Eco Lodge and its surrounding facilities within Harenna Forest as well as viewpoints, restaurants, and coffee shops along the hiking and driving trails leading to the summit of Tulu Dimtu. These developments are significant as they aim to promote sustainable tourism, create local employment opportunities, and enhance visitors’ comfort and experience of the park’s unique natural and cultural heritage.
After inaugurating model rural villages in the Halaba and Kembatta zones on Wednesday, Prime Minister @AbiyAhmedAli continued the program today by handing over houses in the Hadiya and Silte zones.
