Thank you everyone for being a part of this conversation. I learned a lot, and I'm glad we got to discuss and hear some different perspectives. Ya'll are awesome! #HITsm
Let's give a massive thank you to Hailey Froisland (@HaileyFroisland) from (@HealthcareScene) for hosting this week's #HITsm chat and to each of you who participated.
We've talked about a lot of these today: the way the data is shared, how readable it is to the common person, the consequences for non-compliance, etc. There's a lot that needs to change. #HITsm
@Greg_Meyer93 Couldn't agree more. From what I saw, the possible consequences are fines of up to $300 per day... which is absolutely minuscule to most hospitals that can make that back in seconds. #HITsm
@Greg_Meyer93 An emergency situation would definitely not be the time to do the research, so you're right. But I do think that if I had noticed (previously) that one provider had consistently lower prices, I'd go there for almost everything - including emergencies. #HITsm
@healthcora The sad truth. How long do you think it would take the industry to get something like this in place. Like you said, there need to be incentives to get it rolling. #HITsm
T2: Do you feel that the new rule will be effective enough to really bring about a βnew eraβ in the American healthcare experience? Why or why not? What else would it need for it to do that? #HITsm@HaileyFroisland
