I strongly condemn the reported brutal attacks against civilians carried out by non-organic Indonesian military forces (TNI Satgas Habema) in Distrik Tembagapura, Mimika, Central Papua.
It is deeply disturbing and heartbreaking that innocent civilians, including children who should be protected by the state, are instead becoming victims of violence and military brutality.
We urgently call on the United Nations and the international community to take this situation seriously. We also call on the Pacific Islands Forum (PIF) and the Melanesian Spearhead Group (MSG) to carefully review their bilateral relations with Indonesia in light of the continuing violence and alleged massacres against Melanesian West Papuans.
The international community, human rights organisations, churches, and humanitarian bodies must not remain silent while violence against Indigenous Papuans continues.
Children deserve safety, peace, and a future free from fear — not trauma caused by conflict and militarisation.

''I also call on actors within the international community, particularly the Pacific, to do more to pressure Indonesia to open West Papua to the eyes of the world. The demand for a UN visit is needed, but what further action will you take, now Indonesia has made it clear they have no intention of facilitating such a visit? Will you refuse to deal with Indonesia, to trade with them or sign bilateral agreements, until the UN is allowed access? Will the MSG expel Indonesia for murdering Melanesians? I call for real action: action that Indonesia cannot ignore. While the world delays, West Papuans die.' @MsgSecretariat@MsgSecretariat@UNHumanRights@UN

Statement on the Enforced Disappearance and Torture of Yusuf Sory by Indonesian Forces
On March 22nd, Indonesian military forces (TNI) arbitrarily arrested and tortured West Papuan civilian Yusuf Sory following a gunfight in Sory Village, Maybrat Regency. Mr. Sory was filmed tied to a tree, visibly terrified, while being interrogated and beaten, acts that constitute crimes against humanity under the Rome Statute. His whereabouts remain unknown, and he is feared dead. This incident has sparked a humanitarian crisis in Maybrat, where residents are trapped in their homes, facing a complete lockdown and severe food shortages. The ULMWP condemns these atrocities and demands Indonesia immediately withdraw its forces and allow the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights to visit after seven years of refusal @ForumSEC@MsgSecretariat
#LetUNIn #WestPapua #HumanRights
The torture and forced disappearance of Yusuf Sorry is a crime against humanity. The evil and cruel actions of the occupying military in Maybrat show how urgently West Papuans need the visit by the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, which Indonesia has refused for seven years. If Indonesia continues to refuse, they must suffer severe diplomatic consequences @MsgSecretariat@ForumSEC@vanuatugov@FijiGovernment.
