Yesterday, Friday, 9 October 2026, the RSF militia committed another massacre, striking displaced civilians in Abu Shandi, Wad al-Mahi locality, in Sudan’s Blue Nile region. According to the local governor, the drones were launched from inside Ethiopia. The attack killed 31 displaced civilians, including four children, and injured 19 others, according to the Sudan Doctors Network. AFP quoted witnesses who reported burying 26 women and four children. That same day, the Sudanese American Physicians Association (SAPA) was forced to suspend its mobile clinics and temporarily withdraw its team for their safety.
The #UAE-backed RSF continues its massacres while US adviser Boulos @US_SrAdvisorAF works to weaken the Sudanese state’s ability to confront it. Protecting civilians requires stopping arms supplies to the militia and holding those responsible for its crimes—and their backers—accountable. Weakening the state’s ability to defend civilians only opens the door to further massacres.

@EthiopiaArabic1 Now, we are one people. Why did you accept the UAE and allow it to establish camps for the Rapid Support Forces militias at the Assosa base—enabling the launch of drones that kill hundreds of Sudanese people Now, you are drinking from the same cup.
@US_SrAdvisorAF@SecRubio foolish and naive to claim—regarding the UAE’s funding of an aerial fleet transporting weapons and mercenaries to Sudan—that the UAE is not at fault and that it is merely the work of merchants. If you cannot bring yourself to condemn the UAE, how can you possibly stop the war?
