"As its only response, FIFA sent a letter to the RBFA stating that it considered this correspondence to constitute an appeal, that a judge had been appointed, and that the RBFA had only a few hours to complete that appeal. No information whatsoever was provided by FIFA."

"Furthermore, during the match coordination meeting, FIFA deliberately removed the section concerning the automatic suspension of players from its presentation. HONEST TAKE: THE USA DESTROYED THE 96 YEAR-OLD FIFA WORLD CUP!

I know this post won’t make me popular but as a soccer fan, my view is that the FIFA World Cup should maintain its sanctity and not be sold out to American commercialization.

- For 96 years only the best teams have had the privilege of competing in this exclusive tournament. It was exclusive to the best!

This year instead of the normal 32 teams, it’s 48.

So much so that the format has been changed to include a new round of matches to accommodate this slip and generate more ad revenue.

- “Hydration Breaks” - Soccer/Football is and always has been a game of 2 halves. 45 minutes each with one break.

It’s not a Superbowl where there are 5X as many ads played as minutes played.

- Presidential interference for the home team to override a player suspension .I’ve never seen this before.

I get the argument that the American sports market is the biggest in the world but I preferred Soccer before is got here.

Vilka ni? Ni som oprovocerat attackerar ledamöter av vår högsta folkvalda församling. Ni som sätter er över hemfriden och ger er på statsråds bostäder. Ni som kastar tillhyggen på förtroendevalda. Ni som skriker och beter er som svin. Ni som tror att rätten att höras också inbegriper rätten att hota och oprovocerat bli fysisk mot andra människor.

Det har pratats länge från vänstern om hotet mot demokratin som vi inte får blunda för. Ändå förefaller aktivismen alltid utövas mitt framför vänsterns blinda fläck. Ändå är det nu nästan uteslutande från vänster dessa konstanta övertramp nu kommer. Socialdemokratiska tidigare statsråd hejar på. Nuvarande riksdagsledamöter från vänsterpartiet går i armkrok med sagda aktivister.

Det är så erbarmligt skamligt att ni inte förmår se era allianser för vad de är, ett verkligt hot mot demokratin, mot folkvaldas integritet och personliga engagemang.

Dra en gräns mot antisemiterna, mot aktivisterna, mot terrorns romantiker och kolportörer. Skärp er.

German foreign policy and security expert and member of the German parliament Roderich Kiesewetter issued another stark warning, this time regarding the latest US National Security Strategy (NSS) document. This is his statement:

Anyone who reads the document must understand: The United States has not only bid farewell to its role as the "world policeman," but the upheavals run much deeper.

The United States is no longer interested in Europe. Even more: This administration no longer views Europe - and specifically the EU - as a partner, but rather, in large part, as strategic ballast, as an economic adversary, and as a civilization in decline.

For Trump, it’s "States over Institutions." The EU as a force for order is seen as a hostile construct that stands in the way of U.S. interests. In the economic worldview of this administration, we are not an ally, but a competitor that must be made to pay up.

Trump thinks transactionally and with a deal-making mentality that contradicts Europe’s institutionalized and rules-based approach.

The (military) music is playing exclusively in the Indo-Pacific. The resources we need for protection (air defense, reconnaissance) are heading to Guam and Taiwan to contain China. Nothing will be left for us unless we build it ourselves.

The talk of Europe’s “civilizational decline” in the NSS is a slap in the face. They no longer entrust us with the future. Anyone who writes about partners in this way won’t defend them when it really counts.

What does that mean? The era of the “security guarantee” is over. Washington now treats us more like an annoying client state that’s supposed to pay tribute, or like an economic rival that must be kept in check.

I say this as a committed transatlanticist: Precisely because the United States sees us this way, we must finally stop being supplicants. We should stop blindly hoping and instead build up our own capabilities with maximum efficiency and develop smart power that makes us more independent and resilient.

Because the United States is pulling back, we must support Ukraine more strongly. If Ukraine falls, Russia will be at our border - and Washington won’t come to save us. Integrating Ukraine now as part of European defense and supporting it in such a way that it can push Russia back is part of this necessary efficiency. It will only cost us half of what a Russian success would.“

BREAKING: MAGA world flies into panic mode as the grandmother of Charlie Kirk's suspected assassin Tyler Robinson reveals that his entire family is hardcore MAGA.

The Republican narrative has collapsed in record time...

“My son, his dad, is a Republican for Trump. Most of my family members are Republican. I don’t know any single one who’s a Democrat," the suspect's grandmother Debbie Robinson told The Daily Mail.

“I’m just so confused. [Tyler] is the shyest person. He has never, ever spoke politics to me at all," she added.

The Daily Beast reported that both of Robinson's parents are registered Republicans who hold hunting licenses. They appear to be run-of-the-mill conservative gun nuts.

In the immediate aftermath of Kirk's assassinations, Republicans rushed to blame Democrats. Donald Trump pointed a finger at the "radical left" and MAGA influencers, including Donald Trump Jr., gleefully embraced the false narrative that the shooter was transgender.

We now know that the alleged shooter was a 22-year-old white Mormon man from Utah. It seems increasingly likely that he was a far-right supporter of the white nationalist Nick Fuentes. The engravings on the bullets found appear to be references to memes popular within Fuentes's "groyper" movement. Groypers despised Charlie Kirk because he wasn't right-wing enough for their taste and they believe that he sold out the "America First" movement.

One bullet was engraved with the phrase “Hey fascist! Catch!" but it does not appear to be a left-wing "antifa" message as Republicans originally claimed. Instead, it seems to be a reference to a satirical slogan in the popular video game Helldivers 2. Video games are a crucial cornerstone of the bizarre groyper worldview, along with misogyny and racism.

In the coming days we will no doubt learn more about this twisted shooter and his hateful beliefs but we cannot allow Republicans to slink away without taking responsibility for their lies. Yesterday, they were promising now civil war. Now that it appears the shooter was one of their own, they want to move on.

We must hold them accountable. The shooter is not transgender, is not a Democrat, and is not an immigrant. He's an unstable homegrown white man with access to firearms. America's gun violence problem is a Republican problem.
