Personally, I love it when my heroes have morally bereft moments. Shows their humanity. Hopper’s ultimately a good person. That doesn’t mean he’s always a good person.
@UMA_Nero Letterboxd are the worst culprits of every single review being an attempt to be the funniest person in the room. It’s worse than Reddit in that sense. You can’t find an actual review for anything.
@abysmaldogwater I think it was 1960s Marvel power-fantasy. They wanted to create stories where the main character was the smart underdog and it was actually "le dumb strong jocks" who were wrong. When it came time for crossovers, they'd done that same gimmick for near every character.
@PalmyrPar I can’t watch Dave Filoni slop because every two scenes, these characters just stand there smirking and folding their arms. I feel like that was his only way to express cartoon characters being confident and cool, so he just kept telling the live-action actors to do it.
@kurington@MauLer93 There’s two early issues that are either Fantastic Four or Avengers issues (or both) where they fight for the entirety of both of them and neither of them win because the Hulk is stronger but the Thing just never gives in. Unstoppable force meets immovable object. Literally.
Always funny when leftists go “Art is left wing” like they aren’t constantly double checking and breathing down the necks of every artist, musician, and actor to make sure they’re not right wing and making sure they lose everything they have if they are right wing.
this game was made to be enjoyed soley by boring out of touch white millennials who couldnt accept they had a privileged upbringing so they wanna pretend they were a generation of rebels
@DiscussingFilm@EW As someone who liked Man of Steel, BvS, Wonder Woman and Zack Snyder’s Justice League, I don’t get why I have to listen to people telling me Snyder’s characters are out of character and there are no colours when GL under James Gunn looks like this.
@CatDaddyVGC@greensapphir3 Also, everything cosmic Jim Starlin did from the mid-70s to the late 90s is gold. That, as well as this 2006 Annihilation/Abnett/Lanning cosmic era is an entire quality franchise in itself - beyond just Spider-man, Avengers and X-men.
@Chris50442051@miraculodi@kamoola_ The same scientists that made Adam also made a female version of Adam by accident - "Her" - who had an entire 3-issue odyssey where she went off into space to go and find Adam with the express intention of sleeping with him. Yes, Adam is "cracking".
@sam_rukasu Three of these characters can be totally seen from a Conservative perspective. Conservatives aren’t the boogeymen, they’re just your fellow neighbours who think different to you and prioritise different values.
@chovwenofuru Ioan Gruffudd > Pedro Pascal
Joseph Quinn > Chris Evans
Michael Chiklis > Ebon Moss-Bachrach
Jessica Alba > Vanessa Kirby (but not by much, I don't think either of them have done Sue proper justice)
@DT2ComicsChat I am getting tired of this synergy. Especially Iron man’s voice in Marvel Rivals being an RDJ impression. But, to each their own. RDJ played the character, but he’s not the character.
