Eid Mubarak!
Today as we honor Prophet Ibrahim, Eid al-Adha reminds us that sacrifice is not a burden. It is an opportunity to see ourselves as part of something larger. To extend a hand to those who need it most.
I am honored to be New York City's first Muslim Mayor and I am determined to lead through solidarity. Together, we are working to ensure every New Yorker can afford the groceries, housing, and child care they need.
Our solidarity is our strength. Eid Saeed, New York.
Frum is both out of his depth and lying about Muslims as usual. Lander beautifully recited Surah Ikhlas, one of the most famous chapters of the Quran which affirms the oneness of God. It says nothing about Christianity and is an affirmation of monotheism:

Amin Abdullah.
He stood his ground so others could make it home safely.
When gunmen opened fire outside the Islamic Center of San Diego, Amin protected the community until his final moments. Police say his actions prevented the attack from becoming far worse.
Support Amin’s family with funeral costs, immediate household needs, education for his children, and long term financial stability.
May Allah accept him amongst the martyrs and grant patience to his loved ones. 🤲

Alhamdulillah, on Friday night I had the opportunity to attend the “Sunni and Shi’a?” event with Shaykh @YasirQadhi where we engaged in a respectful, productive and friendly dialogue about the differences between the two schools of thought.
The atmosphere was amazing and the attendees truly felt the brotherhood between the scholars and their respective traditions. This event, which in some senses, was the first of its kind, was a monumental moment for dialogue and discussion. I pray it leeds to more fruitful discussions in the future.
Special thanks to Sh Yasir for how gracious he was throughout the session and thank you to NUUN and @dallas_youth for organizing the event.
The recording will be posted to the Youtube channels soon iA.
I am aware of the disturbing incident targeting worshippers during Friday prayers outside the Baitul Mamur Mosque in Brooklyn, where a man praying was struck with an egg. That hateful act is unacceptable and an affront to the values that define us as New Yorkers. My administration is committed to rooting out anti-Muslim hate in all its forms and ensuring every New Yorker can live and worship in safety and dignity. The NYPD Hate Crime Task Force is investigating this incident.
"Baba, I am invited to @PiersUncensored against someone who says nasty, hateful lies about Islam. What do you advise?"
@Malhachimi: "Son, don't just say the facts. Print them on paper and hold them up for everyone to see. Obliterate the lies with the clear, plain truth"
"Ok"

Being a Muslim founder in Silicon Valley is a specific kind of lonely.
You're in rooms where everyone's talking about their YC batch, their angel checks, their network. And you're thinking about how none of your uncles understand what a startup is, how your parents still ask when you're getting a "real job," and how the founder communities you see don't quite feel like they were built for you.
You code-switch. You keep your head down. You build.
But you build alone.
I know because I lived it.
That loneliness isn't just uncomfortable, it's expensive. No warm intros to the right investors. No founder friends who understand the specific weight of building something while carrying a community's expectations. No one to call when your fundraise is falling apart during Ramadan.
Friday exists because that loneliness shouldn't be the default.
3,000+ Muslim founders, investors, and builders. YC alumni. HF0 fellows. South Park Commons members. Angel investors writing real checks.
A community that actually shows up for each other.
If you've been building alone, you don't have to.
Join our community. fridayhq dot co
