@ukplbioinspired In addition, there are reports of combining MBGs with other materials such as polymers in order to obtain a multifunctional biomaterial - this is certainly an interesting research direction that I hope to be able to analyse and maybe develop :)
@ukplbioinspired To be honest, now my main interest is actually bone defects. However, I have already read about attempts to use MBGs as vehicles for cytotoxic drug release by using the โenhanced permeability and retentionโ effect occurs in tumor vascularization.
@ukplbioinspired In conclusion, MBG must have a bioactive composition, a large surface area and the most important from the point of view of controlled drug delivery - an well-ordered mesoporous structure with small pore size and a regular morphology.
