“Government policies have prioritised a set of academic GCSEs, and increased the time students spend sitting exams. It is not conducive to the enjoyment of learning”: my comments on behalf of @ASCL_UK on this new report: https://t.co/vczaySoHQa
Mrs Dekker bought us a beautiful birch tree to plant that we named Loveheart because of the shape of its leaves. We learnt what our tree would need to grow and helped to water it. Everyone made a wish as we added a handfuls of soil to Lovehearts new home!🌳💫
Happy #WorldTeachersDay to all of you incredible educators 🤩 You’re all stars 🌟

Can’t stop thinking about the children who are being taught in the wrong place because of the lack of sufficient funding/ special school places. The impact on that child, their family, classmates, teachers & school leaders is unforgivable & lasting. We all know the headlines, but when you see & feel it first hand, it’s tragic.
Boy walks into reception late for school.
Receptionist says ‘late again!’
Enters building. Passing member of staff says ‘are you late again?’
On his way to class, someone else asks him for a minute. ‘Are you ok?’ They say.
Boy confides that he has no bed. 4 children in a 2 bedroom house. Mum has late nights and he gets himself ready.
Good to consider how we may greet some children in a morning.
We are really excited to be starting the Autumn Term tomorrow!
⌚ 8:30 Year 7 and Year 12 Start

“The work that schools are doing - feeding hungry children - while hugely valuable, is not sustainable, and is merely papering over the cracks of a deeply unequal society”: my comments on behalf of @ASCL_UK: https://t.co/qSAHkGuSr7
