Professor Shoup’s book informed many of our studies at City Planning including Parking in the Manhattan Core - some of the research behind congestion pricing.
In “The High Cost of Free Parking,” Donald Shoup took the dry topic of parking and made it entertaining, capturing the attention of policymakers and influencing the way cities are built. He has died at 86. https://t.co/YJcaVyLiFz
It was a priviledge to know and work for Dr. John Flateau, "Dean" of the @NYS_IRC . He inspired me with his dedication, but what I will miss the most about John was his sharp wit and how he brought levity to stressful situations. I will miss him very much.
We are deeply saddened by the passing of Dr. John Flateau, a luminary in the field of voting rights and redistricting. His profound contributions and generosity of knowledge left an indelible mark on this commission and beyond.
Did you miss us? We’re back just in time for the new year. The Commission will be meeting tomorrow, December 28th at 12pm. Join us in person or follow along from home at https://t.co/Z7JC38ZWOw
From @KenJenkinsNY, NYIRC Chair “We are pleased with the Court of Appeals’ decision and look forward to getting back to work with our colleagues as soon as possible to ensure that New York’s voters receive the benefit of the historic redistricting reforms they voted for in 2014.”
