Despite having a star studded attack, the biggest problem for France is that they never got the replacement of a Pogba or Kante type player to play in the pivot. If the ball doesn’t reach Olise, Mbappe, Dembele then there’s no point of such an attack.
Senegal aren’t pressing with high intensity, they’re more interested in blocking the passing lanes to Mbappe, Dembele, Rabiot, Olise who are positioning in between the defensive lines
@YashRMFC No deep lying playmaker to build out from the back. They’ll need heavy rotations in their middle to access Dembele or Mbappe directly through a line breaking pass.
France’s rest defence can be another issue. They rely on the full backs for crosses into the box and Rabiot being a box to box midfielder France can often leave just 3 players behind. With Senegal’s threat from the wings, that can be dangerous.

Senegal are very good at wide attacking play, especially how they combine their wingers, full backs and midfielders in the channels. Against France they’ll get chances to attack down the wings especially because France tend to push their full backs quite high.
France’s biggest challenge will be to build up through the lopsided 4-4-2 / 4-1-4-1 press of Senegal, especially with Rabiot and Tchouameni and if they push the full backs high. I’m expecting Dembele and Mbappe to drop between the lines to overload the Senegal no. 6 and get the ball to Olise.
@Abbasislegit_@poulpet87@JosipFCB93 I am also saying the same thing, Pedri's positioning was wrong. He was played in the wrong position by de La Fuente
said this yesterday and people seem not to agree with me. I guess going forward in the World Cup, Rodri and Pedri will constantly rotate to get into positions from where one of them can unlock the defensive blocks, yesterday Pedri dropped down multiple times too

Egypt’s final third movements have been amazing. Salah is dropping on the right from his 10 role to combine with Zico. LW Ashour is exploiting the gap left by Salah!
Egypt will probably defend in a 4-4-1-1 or 5-3-2. Whatever gives Salah the biggest advantage in transition.
Belgium should look for direct diagonal balls to Doku with a full back support and runs into the half spaces by KDB or Tielemans from the deep.
