This only goes hard because you read ranking and pull data from AI without having any understanding how they work. Grok ranks them by Nominal GDP which isn't a good basis for living standards. At least 30% of Mexicans live in extreme poverty and in terms of political influence they get bullied by the US all the time.

Their GDP per Capita is lower than an enormous number of countries. And the military speaks for itself, 0 tanks and only 2 aircraft which is Miserable.

Saudi does not have more political leverage than countries like turkey, spain, south korea, canada I don't know what thought process led you to saying that.

If you were to for example enter a war with the US or they start sanctioning you, all of your military equipment would become disabled because they have safety switches for these things. You wouldnt be able to maintain them either because you need to buy the ammunition and other requirements from them to begin with. This is the issue when most of your economy and military is dependent on foreign powers.

That is not true. They have been disrupting the strait of hormuz for about a year now which includes exports from all gulf countries (not just saudi) and despite there being issues, the world isn't ending. I'd like to add being an economic power constitutes of that being self-sustained which means you don't bring foreign knowledge or labor to build your infrastructure or military for you. Saudi cannot decide to stop selling oil because as soon as a country like that starts misbehaving the west will start putting it into its place just like how they did with Iraq.
