My personal experience with AI is that most of the gen AI companies have offered me buckets of money (house money!) to publicly endorse their tools and claim they are central to my creativity (have turned them all down).
What's interesting is that there are SO many people who are hyped about these tools who should be getting the bag instead of me. So all I can gather is that these companies are throwing money around to control the story about who their tools are for. Seems like they'll pay anything to have non-AI folks endorse the AI tools.
@trevornelson201@3coneylunch@tomgreenlive Are you talking about going to Ottawa, the city, or a game in Ottawa? Because, I assure you, the population of the city of Ottawa is not mostly displaced Montrealers.
@BootsRiley I loved Sorry to Bother You. I wish I was watching I Love Boosters this weekend, but I'm helping an ailing family member out of town all weekend.
@JamianGerard Nice gotcha attempt using Bob "the Joy of Painting" Ross as your example. The champion of democratizing art and for everyone to discover the joyful act of creating art. I recommend you give it a try yourself.
@jjellisart Yes, use Bob "The Joy of Painting" Ross to make your stand for AI. Of all the artists to use, he was a champion for the joyful act of creating art, for anyone at any level. These guys are clueless.
@petarsaur was my statement obtuse because I was ignorant of Scott's history with Nolan, or I'm being too quick to dismiss his as-yet-seen acting abilities, or that it's a trivial concern? I'll be honest, the quote just tickled my hip hop head senses and gave me an opportunity to talk rap.
I like the sentiment, but there are much better rappers with legit acting chops out there. I've never seen Travis Scott act, but he's not a lyricist, he's a producer who raps
Christopher Nolan explains why he cast Travis Scott in โTHE ODYSSEYโ:
โI cast him because I wanted to nod towards the idea that this story has been handed down as oral poetry, which is analogous to rap.โ

@petarsaur What an odd thing to say.
I'd say of all the early reactions to the Odyssey, mine might be the mildest. I don't think I said anything particularly clickbait-y, but I guess I got my click.
I totally forgot he did a song for Tenet, so it all makes sense now.
@Radrappy Incredible news! Congratulations. My old boss is running the Vancouver edition of Monk, I don't know if they'll have any involvement, but if the studio is good enough for Trevor, it's surely great
Probably a scorcher, but I've always found Richard Williams' fixation on showing off his unparalleled draftsmanship as an animator came at the expense of funny gags, and both comedic & appealing timing. Everything is so smooth, SO perfectly illustrated, but totally humourless
