During the Second World War (1939-1945), a runaway barrage balloon landed in a tree outside the Women’s Land Army hostel on Byfield Road.

LOCAL #HISTORY – BUILDINGS:
Brick was introduced for houses in the parish of Woodford cum Membris in the second half of the 19th century. It was also used for extensions and outbuildings.

While we have the names of the people in this photo of Woodford Halse Council School's #cricket team, we also have information that they won a shield playing against #MiddletonCheney at #Brackley.
