Loose @TheStudioWidnes are working with Widnes Historical Society to research and record the former use of The Studio building as a clothing factory and to create a booklet detailing what they find. Loose offer high quality, low cost creative activities which improve well-being.
2 more partnerships have been created to deliver heritage projects thro Celebrating Halton’s Heritage, funded by @HeritageFundNOR@DigitalArtsBox working with @HaltonLibraries & @CatalystSDC will use stop-motion animation to bring stories about Halton trades to life.
The project will bring the story of soap to a new audience. Gateway work with people who have disabilities, learning difficulties and long-term health and mental health conditions, to help them overcome barriers and fulfil their potential.
The 2nd community grant from @HeritageFundNOR through the Celebrating Halton’s Heritage will go to Gateway Community Ltd & @HaltonLibraries Together they will tell the story of soap & how it changed the borough, producing a video & touring exhibition.
The photography group is based in Phoenix Park, Runcorn and was set up just before the pandemic to enable people to meet and share their photography skills, in an open and inclusive environment. 4/4
Community groups have teamed up with Halton Heritage Partners for the first time & been awarded grants of up to £5,000 funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund through the Celebrating Halton’s Heritage Project. 1/4
The first of these exciting newly formed partnerships is Phoenix Amateur Photographers and Sankey Canal Restoration Society. Their project will photographically document the trades of Halton’s waterways. 3/4
