This week is Art Week!
Over the last two days, we have looked at artists and art movements and how artists use reflection, light direction and shading to create their work. Here are some examples of our work…
@HamDingleSchool
This afternoon, the children dug out our Edible Garden beds and planted our pumpkin seedlings. This is for our school pumpkin competition. Please check them out on your next walk around school and see how well they grow! #gardening#planting#pumpkins#pumpkincompetition
Wow - I am really impressed with what 5L have produced this week! Today, we are putting our finishing touches to the designs and the children will be bringing them home to use.
After only 45 minutes of play time, we have made some great progress! Some of the children have managed to get to level 30 or beyond! @SticknSplit
We are extremely impressed with the game - the children love it!
In today’s DT lesson, the children made and cut out their templates then used these to cut out the correct sized fabric. We began to stitch these together ready to add on our designs tomorrow!
This week is DT week!
Our focus this week is on sewing and joining fabric together. Yesterday, we practised running stitch and back stitch - the children really enjoyed this practical learning!
Last week, during Maths catch-up, we investigated making factions using symmetry and shape.
We discovered many different ways of creating a half from a square. Here are some examples:
Welcoming Alice as our class Healthy Eating Ambassador. It is her job to prepare the fruit and put it into our fruit bowl ready for the class to eat. She has a little fruit badge to wear to show everyone about her important role so ask Alice if you have any fruity questions.
Well done 5L for reaching the semi-finals of Ham Dingle’s TTRS Battle of the Bands! Remember, tonight is our last chance to play for the final as results will be posted tomorrow at 9am. Good luck!
Art Week - Day 4
Today's focus was on the proportions of the face - Working through the given instructions and with guidance, the children were able to sketch and practice facial proportion.
Comment below and let us know how you think we got on!
Day 3 of Art week!
Today's focus has been facial features, mainly the eye, nose and mouth. We found it difficult at first but persevered through and produced some excellent pieces of art.
I am very proud of everyone's effort - Well done 5L!
Thank you to everyone in 5L who are sending in their artwork! Here is a selection of the submissions received through Home Learning email.
What a fantastic effort!
It's Art week!
Today, we have been looking at techniques for shading and how to shade based on a light source.
Here are some examples of our work from class, where we were shading blank faces:
