Updates; Seven Pakistani Police Killed in Landmine Blast in Lakki Marwat
Voice of Hindukush has confirmed that a landmine explosion in the Betani area of Lakki Marwat district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, on Friday claimed the lives of seven Pakistani police officers.
The explosion struck a Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police vehicle as it passed through the area, killing the local police station chief and several other officers, all reportedly residents of Lakki Marwat.
The Pakistan Taliban has claimed responsibility for the attack, reporting that six officers, including the police station chief, were killed and one sustained injuries. The police patrol vehicle was completely destroyed in the blast.
The officers killed have been identified as Police Station Chief Sadr Azam, Shah Bahram, Shah Khalid, Haji Mohammad, Gulzada, and Sakhizada. Officer Insafuddin was injured in the blast.
