Additional Chief Secretary (ACS), Jal Shakti, Shaleen Kabra today chaired a meeting at the Civil Secretariat here to review the progress on the implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) across Kashmir province.
The meeting was attended by MD JJM, Dr. G.N Ittoo; Chief Engineers of PHE and I&FC of Jammu/Kashmir, Director Planning, Superintending Engineers and Executive Engineers of all wings of Kashmir division and other concerned officers. During the meeting, MD JJM gave a detailed presentation on progress made on implementation of JJM across Kashmir province

A review meeting was held by Dr. G.N. Itoo, Mission Director, Jal Jeevan Mission J&K, and the Chief Engineer Jal Shakti (PHE) Jammu, with key attendees including the SE Hydraulic Circle Ramban, OSD Er. Reyaz Ahmed Bhat, SE Mechanical Jammu, JJM (Civil) Consultant, ExEn Hyd. Div. Ramban, ExEn GWD Jammu, AEEs, JEs, and contractors in District Ramban. The MD emphasized that no extensions beyond the deadline will be allowed under any circumstances, and contractors were urged to strictly adhere to the set timelines.

A crucial meeting was held under the chairmanship of MD JJM J&K, Dr. G.N. Itoo, and Chief Engineer Jal Shakti (PHE) Jammu, with the participation of SE Hydraulic Circle Doda, OSD Er. Reyaz Ahmed Bhat, SE Mechanical Jammu, Consultant JJM (Civil), ExEn PHE Div Doda, ExEn GWD Jammu, along with AEEs, JEs, and contractors regarding the JJM in Doda District. During the meeting, the MD emphasized that no further extensions beyond 30th September will be granted under any circumstances. Contractors were also warned of the serious consequences of failing to meet the deadlines.

Worthy Chief Engineer of the Jal Shakti (PHE) Department Jammu visited the Utterbehni area in District Samba to review Jal Jeevan Mission projects.

A standout achievement: an ancient dug well, about 40 feet deep and defunct for decades, has been revitalized. Thanks to the Jal Jeevan Mission, the well-received essential repairs, upgrades, and full-depth cleaning, and is now fully functional for water supply.

The local Paani Samiti expressed heartfelt gratitude for the dedicated efforts of the Jal Shakti Department and the Jal Jeevan Mission in restoring this crucial water source.
