We have got some great news to share. Following the visit in November by Ofsted, they have judged Hamford Primary Academy as GOOD in all areas! Thank you to the staff for all of their hard work, our wonderful children and the whole of the Hamford Community for their support.
Today in Maths we learnt about positions on grid by playing an interactive game that helped us understand how to use coordinates accurately. After gaining confidence, we transferred our skills into our books.
In art this afternoon Pico were learning to use simple tools to make different effects. They experimented with making different shapes, models and textures.
What an amazing PSHE day Pico has had! We have had talks from the fire service, police, RNLI and ambulance service. Thank you to them all!

Today in Science Firefly (year 4) recorded findings by investigating volume. We predicted if the sound would increase/decrease if we dropped from lower/higher heights. We then conducted our investigation and then wrote about our findings based on their observations.
In science this afternoon Pico learnt the word decibel. We realised that the greater the decibels the louder the noise. We also discovered that the greater height an item fell from, the greater the decibels made.
To help us today with telling the time in 5 minute intervals Pico made their own clocks. They realised as well that they can use the 5 x table to help with telling the time on an analogue clock.
In Science this afternoon Pico took advantage of the nice weather and investigated how sound travels through different objects outside. We tested metal, wood, fabric and paper.
In humanities today Pico have been learning about different ways that videographers have filmed nature. They have then used this knowledge to help make a story board for their own nature documentaries.
Wow, what wonderful mathemagicians we have in Pico! Today we started a new unit of learning on bar charts and tally’s. We all worked really hard and produced some really fantastic work today.
