I wish to be cremated when I die. I realise though that what happens to my body after my death is not so much about me, but those I leave behind. I will have no personal use with it whatsoever anymore. It is therefore so selfish not to care about what the cremation of my body will do to my loved ones psychologically, especially since the cremation culture hasn’t gained ground in Uganda. Therefore, if it has to take sacrificing 4x8 feet of land for them to stay happy, let it be. If it is within my means to minimise their grief, why should I increase it for the sake of fulfilling a personal desire that I will not experience anyway!
