On Dec. 12, at approximately 9:25 p.m., Hammond PD was dispatched to an apartment located at 5111 Sol in reference to shots fired during a domestic fight. SWAT & Negotiators responded to the scene & attempted to make contact with the suspect. Male located & taken into custody.
Hammond police responded to a home in the 7000 block of California in reference to a 22-year-old female being held against her will. The female was released and Hammond SWAT and Hostage Negotiators were able to peacefully negotiate the surrender of the male without harm.
9/16 at 3:55 p.m., police sent to First Midwest Bank @ 6611 Kennedy in ref. to a bank robbery. Suspect had a handgun & demanded money. Suspect is a black male in 40’s, approx. 6’1” wearing a yellow safety vest, tan pants & tan fishing hat. If anyone has info. call 219-942-4900.
