@BostonWeatherUK@UKWxC_BoD@Handry_Outlook Who gives a shit about him breaking the Terms of Service? Considering you apparently follow every rule to the letter I look forward to seeing your account disappear when the under 16s ban comes into effect next year.
A grand total of at least 130 UK stations broke their June record for high maximum temp with at least 30 years of records.
At least 124 broke their June record for high minimum temp with at least 30 years of records.
@Warren1978@TakeThatClouds Maintenance costs were too high apparently and Urban encroachment on May flower park. The latter point I find debatable considering many current active stations you could say the same thing about.
Southampton Airport has hit 35ยฐC, breaking its all time record. My station near the city centre is reporting 36ยฐC. I'm convinced Southampton itself would have broken its June and all time records if the Met Office hadn't stupidly removed the Mayflower Park station
No measurable rain in Southampton since the 17th of June and it now looks like the first half of July is going to be dry. The temperatures might be cooling down but the dry summer weather is here to stay
@StratoDamz@BostonWeatherUK@SkiesOfTheUK@TorroUK@metoffice Important to remember the scanning angle of the radar. At 0.4ยฐ elevation and accounting for curvature of the Earth and the distance from the radar to near Penzance (~201 km), it's scanning around 645 hPa (~3,800 m), which is about where the MCV is rooted so has caught it well.
Records are being smashed with further rises likely. Central Southampton is currently sitting at around 35c just 0.6 off the previous record. Shame the met office decided to remove the official station from the city
