@nulinya I have honestly never hated anything as much in my life as I do this B&B. On the bright side, this time next week we will be in a new home with no guests and complete freedom. How are you? It’s been a while
Partner’s landlords rent out half the property as a B&B (they get the money, we get the hassle, seems fair). Last week we had a baby screaming at 2am, last lot got smashed at the races and had a midnight fight. This lot have topped them all by leaving a dirty nappy on the landing
Provisional grades came out for our final projects today and I’m beyond thrilled to be able to say it looks like I’ll be graduating with a distinction in both my project and my MA. So ends student life 🥳🥂
@LadyofLanval That’s great! Are you teaching or did I make that up?
I’m really good, thanks, finished my MA, got the journo job I really wanted and I’m moving into a new place with my partner next month, life is pretty wonderful right now!
Thrilled the article I wrote about Leicester's 'forgotten residents of Hospital Close' has been picked up by the BBC. The situation they've been left in is horrendous.
@tomemurtha Hi Tom, fantastic photo! I'm with the Leicester Mercury. Would you be up for talking to me about your uncle for an article? We want to do a local history piece on families impacted by this. You can reach me at [email protected] if you'd like to discuss this.
Very proud to be able to write this article in my first official week as Leicestershire's new Local Democracy Reporter. Katie and Keeva are far from the only people in this position. Two houses in two years is just not good enough!
'I just need help" 2 yrs & counting in the wait for disability housing.
I've been waiting for 4 yrs for the same type of property!
@Leicester_News has a Major Issue when coming to helping Disabled ppl & Stock level for appropriate housing.
NEEDS SORTING!

@Close_theloop Hello, I'm the new Local Democracy Reporter for Leicestershire, would you be willing to have a conversation with me about this? You can reach me on [email protected]
You know your education has warped your priorities when the fire alarm goes off with ten minutes left of your exam and you realise you’re prepared to risk burning to death for an NCTJ diploma..
@ArsWriter Thanks, Ar 💛 this is the first article I’ve written that I’ve gone “yes, this is why I’m doing this. These are the stories I want to tell.” How are you?
@nulinya Honestly, some of the stories the parents were telling me were heart breaking. It's disgusting how the local authority has treated them, it's not that they don't have funding, the parents are just forced to fight for every little scrap of provision.
"It’s appalling, he should not have ended up in a chip shop, it’s disgusting."
