Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi expressed her belief that Japanese music is loved by people all over the world and can compete in the global market, at the New Year meeting of the Culture and Entertainment Industry Promotion Association (CEIPA) on January 20. She said the content industry, including music, will receive multi-year support through public-private partnerships, using last year's supplementary budget of over 55 billion yen. The PM, who was a drummer in a heavy metal band at college, added that she was looking forward to "MUSIC AWARDS JAPAN 2026" after last year's huge success.
