Kids pick up on coil whine and the function of refresh rate * the number of scanlines drawn on a CRT. The lower resolution CRTs output a whine at 15.5kHz.

@Be_like_legend So the headline is trash. But it is a fact that ASD often presents with auditory processing disorders. That is the reason I wore special earplugs in school and in crowded events. Sensory overload really fucks with your ability to think and can cause outbursts or seizures.

@Be_like_legend Autism doesn't make their ears more capable of hearing. Neurotypical or not the human ear is capable of a set of things that is largely identical person-to-person baring age & damage. It CAN mean they MAY be more aware of subtle sounds that normals can subconsciously ignore.
