Josh Frydenberg asked, “How did they come here?”
Sajid Akram arrived under Howard.
He received a gun licence under Abbott.
His Aus born son was assessed and cleared by ASIO under Morrison, with Frydenberg in the Cabinet.
That’s the answer, Josh.

The Liberal opposition looked at this unfathomably dark moment and saw political terrain. Not duty. Not restraint.
Josh took that thinking to its logical extreme - treating tragedy as leverage.
Ferguson called it on 7.30. “I’m offended” Josh said.
And that was the tell.

Monis was granted asylum under Howard.
Under Abbott, he was charged over his ex-wife’s murder, yet granted bail, despite prior convictions for harassing bereaved defence families.
He carried out the Lindt Café siege while on bail.
I think I know what Josh would've done.

I read Frydenberg's speech in full, and I was hoping someone would do this thread. Several of the things the esteemed former treasurer blames on Albanese happened *under Liberal governments*.
So gross that he is doing this. So embarrassing that much of the media is praising it.
Josh Frydenberg’s credibility collapsed last night, and you went down with it.
That the Liberals would stoop to such grotesque political exploitation in a moment of national grief is disgraceful.
If this issue mattered as much as you now claim, there was nothing stopping you from introducing a bill.
But you didn’t - because this was never about outcomes. It was about opportunism.

After a staged performance & blaming the PM for the actions of #Bondi attackers, Josh Frydenberg snaps at the question on everyone’s mind.
Sarah Ferguson “How do we not see this through a political lens?”
Frydenberg, having already personalised blame, can’t handle it #abc730
@SkyNewsAust Sky’s desperation to rehabilitate Josh Frydenberg has been obvious - even as he cynically leverages tragedy to claw his way back into politics.
7.30 exposed him for exactly who he is, and this thread brings some relevant receipts.

Hi @JoshFrydenberg
I'm sorry you were deeply offended by the suggestion you were using rising tensions in Australia for political gain.
I know how you feel.
I'm deeply offended that you are 100% using rising tensions in Australia for political gain.

Calling peaceful protesters opposing the Israeli government’s genocide "incubators of hate" is reckless, divisive, and irresponsible.
Politicians should be quelling division, not deliberately inflaming it.
Despite our differences, I consider Phil Coorey an intelligent man. And so I am staggered that he could have written something so disconnected from reality and decency.
There is so much wrong with this that I'm going to have to break it down bit by bit. I hope he reads it 🧵
Brilliant by @DaveMilbo in The Shot.
For the sake of our democracy, we cannot be led through these deadly waters by opportunistic vultures, nor by authoritarian psychopaths that routinely use tragedy to stomp the boot down ever harder, all under the guise of safety and “freedom”.

The Libs repeatedly attacked 18C.
Abbott took repealing 18C to the 2013 election after Andrew Bolt was found to have breached it.
Now Libs oppose hate speech and blame Labor for not strengthening laws they spent years opposing.
Ideology when it suits, amnesia when it doesn't.
Don't fall for the daily distractions.
The Trump/Epstein/Maxwell scandal matters.
All day, every day, across every platform, let's post:
RELEASE THE EPSTEIN FILES!
Putin exposed Trump as a weak, imbecilic, and woefully incompetent president being propped up by America's financial and military might. The pedophile is nothing but an empty suit.
