A students’ organisation namely Senapati District Students Association abducting 3 college-going students and refusing to release them till date — isn’t this the highest level of atrocity and abuse of power?
Immediate intervention and justice are needed.

Fresh concern has emerged over the fate of 11 Kuki individuals reported missing after being taken hostage, following a disturbing social media post allegedly shared by a user identified as “Ajoy Rephung,” who described himself as a “Kaccha Naga individual.”
In the post, Ajoy Rephung claimed that the 11 hostages, whom he referred to as “Burmese refugee,” were “already dead and their bodies are decomposed.” The post further carried a chilling warning: “this time you will learn an unforgettable lesson in life.”
These claims remain unverified and no official authority has confirmed the whereabouts or condition of the missing individuals. Yet such statements have intensified fear, anxiety and outrage among the families and community members still waiting for answers.
The continued uncertainty surrounding the 11 missing Kuki individuals demands immediate attention, an independent investigation and urgent action from the concerned authorities. Every effort must be made to establish the truth, ensure accountability and protect innocent civilians from further harm.
Silence cannot replace justice and unanswered disappearances cannot be ignored.

Manipur: There is no justification for continuing to kidnap innocent individuals. Don’t mistake targeting the vulnerable as a sign of strength, it’s pure cowardice. The perpetrators NSCN-IM + SDSA, you should be deeply ashamed of these actions. End this COWARDICE 🛑@NIA_India

#WATCH | Churachandpur, Manipur | Young Pillars College Principal and MD, Samuel Haokip, says, "Among the 14 that were abducted, there's a boy named Hengunsei Khongsai, a student of Young Pillars College. He had just completed his class 11 final exams. Now, Hengunsei is still a minor. He's only 16 years of age. He also has a disability and he's essentially an orphan. His mother left him when he was a child and his father passed away this January. Now, his friends have started their class 12 a week ago. He could not come. He's still in Taphou village. He was in Taphou village to earn his fare money, just to come from his village to Lamka... I earnestly appeal to the government at the state and the centre, to all the security agencies and to all right-thinking community leaders across the region. Please put an end to this madness... Let us release all the hostages on all sides, including our boy, Hengunsei Khongsai... On the 14th of May, as I've been given to understand by his family members, Hengunsei Khongsai, along with his friends and village members were earning money as a daily wage labourer. On their way home to their village, they were stopped, in front of Mount Everest College, Senapati, where they were stopped by Senapati District Student Association (SDSA) members. There were also police members present there, security personnel. Instead of protecting Hengunsei Khongsai and his friends and his villagers, the security people have handed over these civilians into the hands of the SDSA... All involved parties, including the SDSA student leaders as well as the police personnel involved in that incident must be investigated and they must be held accountable for whatever happens to Hengunsei Khongsai and the abducted 14 members."
Manipur: 14 Kuki civilians from Taphou and Hengbung remain missing in Senapati’s hostage crisis.
We urge the Government of India and concerned authorities to ensure the safe release of all civilians& establish accountability.

Protests in Moreh, on the Indo-Burma border, over the attack on the Kuki village of Mulam by Meitei–Tangkhul alliance militants in Ukhrul. The attack left 2 dead, several injured, and 16 houses burnt.
@UNHumanRights@UN_HRC@volker_turk — next time any “Naga” group approaches you, ask them who attacked Mulam and who murdered Thenkhogin and Thangboimang.
Manipur : The IHANG-BUNGPI WORKING COMMITTEE strongly condemns the orchestrated, relentless & unprovoked attacks launched by Tangkhul militant from Sinakeithei against the Kuki villages of Leplen, Tingpibung, and Mongkot Chepu on the morning of 6th April 2026, which caused civilian injuries, loss of life, and mass panic & demands to the GoI & concerned authorities to conduct an immediate, unbiased & time‑bound investigation involving scrutiny of neutral observers such as BSF personnel, to establish the factual sequence of events, punish the responsible Tangkhul militant elements, bolster security for endangered Kuki communities & suppress the spread of fabricated narratives that fuel communal unrest.
@sardesairajdeep Sir, blaming the Kukis without any evidence isn't suspicion but a call for another round of violence. Pls refrain from making conclusion based on assumptions. We're separated by a buffer zone manned by the security forces. BSF jawan's family is likely victim of the VBIGs.
@the_hindu Suspected Kuki Militants?
Everyone is well aware about the existence of the BUFFER ZONE, how would Kuki people come to Bishnupur.
Pointing fingers at the Kukis without proof is blatant and not true.
Manipur : The Kuki-Zo Council strongly condemns the tragic bomb attack at Tronglaobi that killed two innocent children & the subsequent burning of three petroleum trucks at the Moirang Oil Pump Station meant for Churachandpur who have no connection with the incident. And rejects baseless allegations against the Kuki-Zo community ,urging responsible media & citizens to verify facts to prevent misinformation that could reignite ethnic tensions in Manipur. @PIBHomeAffairs@CBC_MIB@MIB_India@PMOIndia@HMOIndia@the_hindu@IndiaTodayNE@HillsJournal@NENowNews@power_corridors@TanushreePande
Manipur CM:
"It appears a Local resident triggered the bomb."
MLA Lokeshwar (Former Speaker): yes, it would appear so, Simply casting suspicions and holding the other groups (Kukis) responsible would be very wrong!"
In deep shock to hear about the incident in Tronglaobi, Bishnupur District. My prayers to those affected.
Let us also ensure that no fingers are pointed towards one another until perpetrators are verified.
It's not possible for the Kukis to cross buffer zone and attack the Meites without being detected, The allegation that it was done by the supporters of Biren cannot be brushed aside. Independent verification should be initiated.@ramindesai@IndiaTodayNE@manipur_police@NIA_India
Manipur Tronglaobi Incident: In the presence of the CM Khemchand, someone clearly mentioned that the bomb was not fired from the hillside, and the CM himself is convinced
