Mir Raza family is a middle-class family from Karachi fighting for justice, and I truly hope this legal battle continues until they get it

Their struggle reminds me of Nazim Jokhio’s case, where an entire village was pressured to boycott his wife because she refused to accept diyat. She was left isolated, with little support and no real protection from the system.

This is the tragedy of Sindh.. whether you are from Karachi or any other part of the province, ordinary families are too often left to fight for justice on their own.

I still remember when Murtaza Wahab (@murtazawahab1) personally went to the airport to receive PPP MNA Jam Abdul Karim, a main culprit in the Nazim Jokhio murder case, and drove him straight to the Sindh High Court to secure protective pre-arrest bail. That image says a lot about how power works in Sindh.

Power in a city like Karachi is often measured by who survives its streets.
Mir Raza Ali was twenty-five years old. He lived in PECHS Block 2.

He did not hold political office or command a faction. Instead, he built Wafflix, a dessert shop near Bahadurabad Chowrangi. In a dense, chaotic metropolis, he established a commercial presence that drew daily crowds.

Then he was targeted.

He was kidnapped from PECHS. For two days, he disappeared completely into the city's underbelly.

On Wednesday, police found his body dumped in the bushes near a wedding hall in Gulistan-e-Jauhar. He had been tortured, burned, and shot dead. The physical destruction was so severe that his father could only identify his twenty-five-year-old son by the clothes he was wearing.

He built a venture on a busy corner. The city ended his life in a vacant patch of ground.
