Today’s Supreme Court decision effectively guts a key pillar of the Voting Rights Act, freeing state legislatures to gerrymander legislative districts to systematically dilute and weaken the voting power of racial minorities - so long as they do it under the guise of “partisanship” rather than explicit “racial bias.” And it serves as just one more example of how a majority of the current Court seems intent on abandoning its vital role in ensuring equal participation in our democracy and protecting the rights of minority groups against majority overreach.
The good news is that such setbacks can be overcome. But that will only happen if citizens across the country who cherish our democratic ideals continue to mobilize and vote in record numbers - not just in the upcoming midterms or in high profile races, but in every election and every level.
@MAGAVoice Thank you, President Biden. The Brownsville refinery project was announced in 2024. Trump is taking credit for a project that was already underway.
If you haven’t seen this bit from Saturday Night Live from last night yet, you absolutely have to. It’s hilarious and at the same time extremely therapeutic. Even if it’s not real. “DO YOU WANT THIS TO BE REAL?”
“She didn’t try to run him over. She ran him over.”
Any other US president would be finished, politically, after brazenly lying about the killing of an American citizen like this. https://t.co/nYgM63iIe7
Over twenty-five years in the U.S. Navy, thirty-nine combat missions, and four missions to space, I risked my life for this country and to defend our Constitution – including the First Amendment rights of every American to speak out. I never expected that the President of the United States and the Secretary of Defense would attack me for doing exactly that.
My rank and retirement are things that I earned through my service and sacrifice for this country. I got shot at. I missed holidays and birthdays. I commanded a space shuttle mission while my wife Gabby recovered from a gunshot wound to the head– all while proudly wearing the American flag on my shoulder. Generations of servicemembers have made these same patriotic sacrifices for this country, earning the respect, appreciation, and rank they deserve.
Pete Hegseth wants to send the message to every single retired servicemember that if they say something he or Donald Trump doesn’t like, they will come after them the same way. It’s outrageous and it is wrong. There is nothing more un-American than that.
If Pete Hegseth, the most unqualified Secretary of Defense in our country’s history, thinks he can intimidate me with a censure or threats to demote me or prosecute me, he still doesn’t get it. I will fight this with everything I’ve got — not for myself, but to send a message back that Pete Hegseth and Donald Trump don’t get to decide what Americans in this country get to say about their government.
James Carville on Venezuela: “Never ever underestimate what Trump will do to draw attention away from Jeffrey Epstein and the fact we’re getting ready for average people to be plunged into health insurance they can’t pay while we run up $3T in debt”
Rep. @SethMoulton comes on CNN and starts by saying: "Is anyone going to just stop for a second and be honest? This is insane. What the hell are we doing? We've got a lot of problems in America today, and invading / occupying / running Venezuela does not solve any of them."
I’m so impressed with the wife and my social security increase for 2026! A total of $79, it will allow us to buy 4 packages of hamburger or half of the copay for a needed MRI!
I’d like to thank all of our Congress members for, not giving a shit about us people that paid taxes for over 50-60 years!
You’re doing awesome work…for everyone except working Americans!
Go fuck yourselves!
We’ve reached a point where any mix of solutions to our nation’s economic problems is going to involve the wealthiest Americans contributing more. https://t.co/m0zXuXeC43
@seanspicer Come on @seanspicer The Obama renovations along with a clear outline of the architectural plans were approved by congress. The outrage here the scale of the renovations along with bypassing congress. Please do better.
Donald Trump is waging war on American cities.
The courts have already said this is illegal — but he’s pushing forward anyway.
This isn’t about holding violent organizations accountable.
This is about inciting violence and chaos so he can continue to consolidate power.
Wake up, America.
