Former med-tech employee, current med-device patient & patient advocate. I rock babies @UMNChildrens NICU & rescue #greyhounds like the original Hank E Pants.
DCM patients make be prescribed pacemakers, ICDs, medic alerts, or VADs to assist with their heart function.

@DoctorGame99@elonmusk Very cool! Good to know that if we charge our rides like normal people we won't have any issues at all. Thanks for conducting this study!
@clementy_ep My EP says my ICD is there to protect me, not restrict me. Also says I am not allowed to use my device as a reason to not do something. + has approved scuba diving after considering my condition. After discussion w/ patient about risks it should be up to the patient. Go Daley!
This person has it absolutely right, and no one will ever convince me otherwise. It’s best served with one of those super flat spoons designed specifically for serving the right kind of cranberry sauce.
Get screened, folks! I did this recently and got a clean bill of health. The worst part is the cleanse, and that wasn’t nearly as bad as I worried it would be. GET SCREENED!!!! It very well may save for life.
@KristinKarnitz Not a good day for the Pack, but a very good day for my beloved Vikes. You’ll be happy to know my youngest had his mind poisoned by his Godfather and is an ardent Packers fan. I’m taking him to Lambeau next week for his first game in Green Bay. I can cheer for the Bears…
My go-to expert on living w. implanted cardiac devices (eg. #pacemaker, defibrillator) is DOUG RACHAC - who spent 14 yrs with Medtronic until he became a device patient too. His short videos about your little hunk of titanium are TERRIFIC! https://t.co/oDvBzrtaOA #ICD@HankEPants
@HeartSisters@SallyPcctga@American_Heart@theheartorg Sure! There are few items in daily life that will cause issues when used normally. Most items are only a concern if they are within 6 inches of your chest. If you follow the “don’t hug that” rule you’ll be fine 99% of the time.
Here is Medtronic’s guide:

Two emotional threads in one. One about cardiac arrest, the other about cancer. Both about the loved ones who go through this terrible journey with us, and how they too need attention and help.
On this day two years ago, my perfectly healthy husband had a sudden cardiac arrest in his sleep. I fought back death for ten long minutes with no weapons but my hands and phone. I watched the color change and eventually drain out of his body.
@thisisdspan@Twins I did not get a notification that you responded! So cool! This really is one of our favorite Twins memories. These boys are now 15 and 17, and still devoted @Twins fans.
10 years ago today @thisisdspan took a minute out of his pre-game activities to take a picture with two adoring fans. We still talk about how our son piping out “Hey Denard Span!” got his attention. This is one of our favorite @Twins memories.
@KristinKarnitz My favorite quote about America and Baseball was written by comedian and Scotsman-turned-American @CraigyFerg. It was in the preface for his book American on Purpose.
