Ancient Greeks and Romans used to use knucklebones for gambling. Now we have smartphones. Societies have used all sorts of devices throughout humankind.
The problems are still the same.
Love that Elder Christofferson is directly tackling sports betting and prediction markets. Can already tell this is going to be one of my favorite talks.
“Personal temple culture” is such an interesting phrase. I loved hearing Elder Gong talk about how personal our temple attendance should be. It reminded me of President Nelson’s invitation to make and keep a regular appointment with the Lord. What a beautiful invitation to make the temple a more personal part of our lives.

Church News editor Ryan Jensen writes about a time he could only listen to, not watch, general conference. "Sitting in the dark, I listened to inspired messages from God's Prophet and other Church leaders, and I felt the Holy Ghost."
Welcome to General Conference.
In the Conference Center, a new statue titled Christ Visits the Americas, by sculptor Michael Hall, portrays the moment the Savior first appears to the people, as told in 3 Nephi 11.
In that account, God the Father introduces His Son, Jesus Christ:
"Behold my Beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased, in whom I have glorified my name—hear ye him."
Today and tomorrow, you're invited to do just that. Through messages delivered by prophets, apostles, and other inspired leaders, General Conference provides an opportunity for you to hear God's voice—wherever you are.
Conference begins at 10 a.m. MT. Watch on https://t.co/xKCj6L1iHH.

Bishop McMullin was known throughout the Triad Center as the man who would smile, say hello, and ask how you were doing every time he saw you. He was one of the most caring people I've ever met. He will be missed.

Bishop Keith McMullin, former CEO of Deseret Management Corp. and leader in the Church of Jesus Christ's Presiding Bishopric, has died. Friends and colleagues remember him as a devoted mentor with unwavering kindness and wisdom.
This week I had three activities after work — all church or church-adjacent activities.
Every day I read scriptures and prayed. Or went on a walk and listened to general conference talks.
All this amounts to more time in person with friends and less time scrolling.
My faith makes me happier not just because of the peace, purpose, and meaning it brings me. But also because of the community.
A "happiness crash" is unfolding among young adults. Since 2000, the share of 20-to-35-year-olds reporting unhappiness has more than doubled, from 11% to 23%.
By fueling social isolation, the Digital Revolution has exacted an esp. devastating cost on young adults.👇🏽
