🩺 Facing a Patient: Which Steroid?

Why?
•Mineralocorticoid activity → Fluid retention, hypertension risk
•Hydrocortisone = shorter action → Preferred for stress dosing

👴 Elderly: Dexamethasone (no mineralocorticoid) or Methylprednisolone (low effect)
🧒 Young: Hydrocortisone or Prednisone (tolerated better)

💊 Conversion: 20mg Hydrocortisone = 5mg Prednisone = 4mg Methylprednisolone = 1mg Dexamethasone
