The official definition of menopause is “the period in a woman's life (typically between the ages of 45 and 50) when menstruation ceases.”, but actually when we asked women what menopause means to them, we heard some very different answers.

It’s clear there’s still a stigma around the menopause and the topic remains taboo, and when we investigated this further we found that 75% of respondents said the menopause was never discussed in their home while growing up, 5% recalled it being discussed once, 19% discussed it occasionally and only 1% said it was discussed on a regular basis.

​​Menopause conversations are a valuable source of support and information which is why I’m such an advocate for us all to keep talking!

Last week I completed the Fertility Nutrition course set up by Dietitian Ro Huntriss. After 12 years focusing mostly on plant-based diets and disordered eating I am moving into the field of Fertility nutrition and I'm ready to take it on.
