We pay 1.7 million a year so that MPs can have cheap food and drink in HoP. And yet lunch for poor kids in holiday is dismissed as creating ‘dependency’. Some of those parents are NHS carers, cleaners, nurses - we clap you but we’re not going to help your children.
After spending the weekend being anxious about online teaching, the VERY last thing I needed was Moodle being down on my session today 👎🏼 But on a positive note, the students were all lovely and engaging and willing to work through the technical difficulties ☺️
First online seminar of the new year:
- Moodle down
- Computer didn't want to share Powerpoint
- Told a story about my cat's arse
- Powerpoint froze
Going to have a little lie down in a dark room.
This is a bit specific, but does anyone know any work on temporary hospitals/ or other temporary medical infrastructure during the Crimean war? I'm struggling with finding literature😬

Yesterday I completed the Joss Naylor Challenge in a time of 11 hours 35 minutes. A run for the over 50s from Pooley Bridge to Greendale Bridge over 30 tops.

I don’t think I’ve fully read a GWS book since my MA, so it was really delightful to read this text about feminism and urban spaces.
It really reminded me about my experiences and some of the prejudices I have faced as a young woman travelling to and around big cities.
