Poster session is this afternoon at 4:45 pm!
Stop by poster P-359 to talk about how a single effector gene impacts host range of the cereal pathogen Xanthomonas translucens! #PlantHealth2024#MPMI
Congrats to @jmjacobs2 on Postdoctoral Mentor of the Year award, nominated by postdocs in his lab🌟L-R: J Gentry (Office of Postdoctoral Affairs), Postdoc Dr. Merfa, Dept Chair Dr. Paul, Awardee Dr. Jacobs, and postdocs Dr. Hawk and Dr. Capouya. It was a surprise announcement!
Excited to share my work on the spatiotemporal activity of Xanthomonas translucens T3SS during barley infection. If you like colorful confocal microscopy images stop by Poster P2.1-068.

So awesome to see my 2 of my mentors present in the same day! @xocolatl_vrr @mvmerfa (Marcus even presented twice!) These 2 have made a great impact on my plant pathology career.
I'll be presenting back-to-back talks on Sunday. First, at Schroth Faces of the Future Symposium (Windows Room, 12:30 pm), where I'll share our results on effector loss for host range expansion of Xanthomonas translucens.
Wrapping up #PlantHealth2023 day 0 by finishing the metagenomics workshop led by the great graduate student @HannahToth6 and sponsored by the Phyllosphere Microbiology Committee. Thanks everyone who attended and those who helped in it! @jmjacobs2 @xocolatl_vrr @taylor_klass
I wanted to say thank you to everyone who came out to my pre-meeting APS workshop! I had such a fun time meeting all of you and getting to share all things metagenomics.
‘Twas a beautiful day for a field trip with the grad plant path lab. They took soil samples for nematode extractions 🪱 w/ Horacio Lopez-Nicora #nematology#plantpathology
“veromics” how to use omics for basic and applied plant health research as prescribed by Dr. Verónica Román-Reyna @xocolatl_vrr soon to be faculty at @psuPPEM.
what an honor to work with Vero at @OSUPlantPath@IDIatOSU!
@xocolatl_vrr will be joining @psuPPEM in July 2023 https://t.co/nn7sKqAmYO and is excitedly recruiting students to start their graduate work in Plant Pathology in Fall 2023. Apply before Dec. 15 https://t.co/Ban47E4pYa.
